Newspaper EndorsementsFolks in The Dark Corner don’t put much stock in newspaper endorsements of political candidates. Some observers in our neck of the woods will tell you that endorsements by some daily newspapers should be avoided - that they can hurt more than they help. They certainly didn’t appear to help Congressmen Bob Inglis and Gresham Barrett very much in their recent bids for election. The Times Examiner has never endorsed a candidate. The publisher says his readers are well informed and smart enough to decide who to vote for on their own. |
