Book Review: The Day of Islam by Dr. Paul Williams PDF Print E-mail
Written by By Jeffrey West
Jul 11, 2007 at 12:00 AM

Dr. Paul Williams has done an excellent job researching and documenting how Islamic terrorists have obtained nuclear weapons to detonate in major cities across the U.S. in an “American Hiroshima.”  Saudi intelligence believes that Al Qaeda has forty to seventy tactical nuclear weapons, some of which were especially built for them by Soviet, Chinese and Pakistani scientists.  Others were obtained on the black market after the Soviet collapse, which gave Muslims the opportunity to purchase their nuclear materials and weapons.  One terrorist involved in a uranium transaction testified that Osama bin Laden had a lab in Khartoum, Sudan, to test the quality of the uranium.  Iran bought four nuclear warheads in 1992 from Kazakstan for $150 million, and a Ukranian arms dealer sold more than twenty kilos of enriched uranium to bin Laden.  Dr. Williams says that such cases are too numerous to list.

Furthermore, nuclear technology has been stolen from the West and the construction of nuclear reactors in various Islamic countries provides the means to manufacture enriched uranium for nuclear weapons.  The West has helped educate their scientists in this technology, such as McMaster University in Canada which has a five megawatt educational nuclear reactor.  Muslim terrorists have allegedly attended the school as students, one of whom is accused of stealing over 180 pounds of nuclear material and then disappearing.

According to testimony of terrorists they have already smuggled nuclear weapons onto American soil.  In 1995 Al Qaeda, later followed by a personal visit by bin Laden, established a base of operations in Latin America to cooperate with their drug cartels and plan attacks on America.  One month after 9/11, a terrorist was caught transporting a backpack nuke into Israel from Jordan, after which Congressman Christopher Shays said at a news conference, “I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if there [would be] a nuclear explosion in Israel or the United States.”  In 1999, Rep. Curt Weldon showed a model of a Soviet suitcase nuclear device to Congress and stated that the Soviets had hidden some of these weapons in America for use in blowing up our infrastructure should we ever go to war.

One of the Muslim terrorists’ characteristics is patience in waiting for the right time to attack.  Bin Laden’s favorite verse says: “I will be patient until I outpatient Patience,” which he imparts to his followers.  The danger of a nuclear explosion in America is now the greatest since the Cuban missile crisis.  Regarding this threat, General Eugene E. Habiger, former executive chief of U.S. strategic weapons, said, “It’s not a matter of if; it’s a matter of when.”  But as Christians we must remember that though Muslim terrorists may have secret weapons, they do not possess our most powerful weapon that is not secret: the omnipotent protection of God through His Son Jesus Christ.  We must pray that God will protect us from an “American Hiroshima.”
