Lance Corporal Dan Marsceau Retires PDF Print E-mail
Written by Bob Dill

Family and friends of Dan Marsceau filed through the impressive atrium of Faith Baptist Church last Friday afternoon to congratulate the honoree on his retirement from quarter of a century of service to the people of South Carolina.

After graduating from Bob Jones University, where he met his bride Priscilla, and before joining the South Carolina Highway Patrol, Marsceau served the city of Greer as a policeman.

In recent years, Lance Corporal Daniel G. Marsceau represented the SC Highway Patrol through the media in the Upstate, providing information and urging safety on the roadways.

For three hours, Marsceau greeted well-wishers from the local area and from as far away as South America, where some of his relatives serve as missionaries.

The atrium was attractively decorated with Marsceau memorabilia of both the serious and humorous variety, some featuring the exceptional artistic talents of Priscilla and other family members.

Upon entering the atrium, to the right was an attractive poster titled: “Trooper Dan’s Last Donut Run.”   To the left was a cartoon depicting Trooper Dan’s new job at “”The Bucket Stitch.” After a few days off, Dan joined his brother doing  custom automobile interiors at The Bucket Stitch, where the motto is: “We don’t eat donuts in your car.”

Marsceau sons Nicolas and Nathanael were helping their mother make their father’s well-wishers feel welcome. Nicolas entertained with a mini-concert on the keyboard, while his grandfather Harold Marsceau circulated through the crowd with interesting stories from the dedicated Christian family’s memories.

A third poster just inside the entrance to the atrium was titled “Trooper Dan and Trainees.” It, of course, featured Dan, Nicolas and Nathanael in uniform.
