Winn Freeman putting testimony to music. Mama’s Song is the testimony of a seemingly hopeless drunk and drug addict who found Jesus in the back seat of a police car and with a personal commitment and His help moved beyond recovery to a victorious meaningful life free from alcohol and other addictive substances and dedicated to help others find the way.
The personal testimony set to music is presented by Winn Freeman each month at the Wisdom in Living Life Ministry, Inc. Temporary Training Center in Travelers Rest, South Carolina as part of a schedule of adult training classes as the ministry transitions from a one-person ministry to a ministry organization.
A critical moment in Freeman’s journey toward becoming a new creature came when, for the first time, his mother stopped enabling her adult son’s drug habit by giving him money and sympathy and silently picked up the telephone and dialed 911.
Every Tuesday evening at 7 p.m., the ministry offers a class designed specifically to help parents of adult children and significant others with addictions. It is titled: “Wisdom’s Freedom … Stop Enabling.”
“Choosing to be Free” is the ministry’s signature get-together each Thursday evening at 6:35 p.m. This event features various substance abuse topics presented by Winn Freeman, including the latest Beyond Recovery Project updates and Mama’s song.
Following “Choosing to Be Free” at 7:45 p.m. is a class entitled: “Discovering the Victorious Christian Life.”
More than 40 people attended the Mama’s Song presentation Thursday, August 16th, including members of the ministry advisory board, ministry staff, volunteers and individuals seeking help with addiction as well as former addicts who have been beyond recovery for periods ranging from several weeks to more than a decade.
Wisdom in Living Life Ministry, Inc. has a long term success rate that far exceeds traditional “treatment” and “recovery” programs.
The Thursday programs at the Temporary Training Center are free, open to the public and are sustained by free will offerings. The training center may be reached by telephone at (864) 271 HELP (4357).
