Huckabee, Thompson and Paul Draw Crowds |

 GOP Candidate Mike Huckabee, former Governor of Arkansas, playing an instrumental number Three Republican presidential candidates dropped in on large
crowds in South Carolina’s conservative foothills last week.
Former Arkansas Governor, Baptist preacher and rock musician Mike
Huckabee appeared before a crowd estimated at 400 at McAlister Square
with supporters including Fourth District Congressman Bob Inglis and
State Senator David Thomas.
Former Sen. Fred Thompson greeted an overflow, standing outside crowd
at the Market Square Deli on Wade Hampton Blvd. after stops in
Spartanburg and a gun shop in Greer where he posed for photographers
holding a gun. Thompson is opposed to gun control legislation.
Numbers USA’s Roy Beck rated the candidates on their records and
promises on immigration. Huckabee and Thompson both scored “excellent”
on promised opposition to amnesty, while Congressman Paul received a
score of “good.”
Beck’s assessment of past immigration actions while holding
political office, Mike Huckabee was rated “bad”, Fred Thompson “fair”
and Ron Paul “good”.
