Betty Poe passes the GCRWC gavel to Jeri Warren. The Greenville County Republican Women’s Club ended an incredible year December 6th when outgoing club President Betty Poe passed the gavel to her successor Geri Warren.
During her 2-year term as president, Mrs. Poe was instrumental in the Greenville Club growing to become the largest in the state with 156 members. For this achievement, the club was presented the membership award by the South Carolina Federation of Republican Women during their convention in Charleston.
The Greenville County Republican Women’s Club was also presented an award for having the best club newsletter in the state.
Three presidential candidates spoke at the club’s monthly luncheons during this year: Mitt Romney, Duncan Hunter and Mike Huckabee.
The women collected money at each luncheon for their “Pennies from Heaven” program and voted during the December event to donate the money to Meals on Wheels.
The hard working Republican Women who helped Betty Poe reach her goals enjoyed celebrating when Mrs. Poe was named Republican Woman of the year by the South Carolina Federation of Republican Women.
