Flag is raised for the first time on the Channel 16 flag pole by the American Legion Color Guard.
American Legion Auxiliary Unit 3 of Greenville, South Carolina, recently installed and presented a flag pole and American Flag to WGGS Ch. 16 at their offices and studios on Rutherford Road in Taylors.

A dedication ceremony was conducted as part of the presentation by Legion Post 3 Commander John Collins and the American Legion Color Guard.

The presentation was made by Auxiliary President Nancy Duncan to Dr. and Mrs. James Thompson, President and Vice President of Dove Broadcasting. Other station executives and television personalities attended the dedication.

The Christian ministry of Dove Broadcasting has been in continuous operations in Greenville County, South Carolina for more than three decades and was one of the first Christian television stations in the nation.

Commander Collins and his wife Brenda, past president of the Legion Auxiliary and member of the Post 3 Color Guard, for many years have been frequent musical guests on the WGGS Dove Broadcasting Nite Line program.
