| SCSSAR Honors Vets During National Nursing Home Week |

Charles Porter was master of ceremonies. The Berea High School Air Force Junior ROTC color guard presented the colors. Heather Peel, Miss Greenville, sang the National Anthem. Beth Adams, activities director at Oakmont, led the Pledge of Allegiance. Warren Berg, a retired pastor who attends Buncombe Road Baptist Church, gave the invocation and benediction. Guest speakers were Steve Loftis, Greenville County Sheriff, and Lt. Col. Bill Price, director of the Army ROTC program at Furman University. Lt. Col. Price, along with the Oakmont staff, made presentations to each of the veterans. Cadet Jacob Adams of the Army ROTC program at Furman played taps.
