Normally mild mannered Richard Cash removed the gloves and pulled out all stops during his address at the One Nation Under God Rally, Monday night at the TD Center in Greenville. His audience received his message with enthusiasm.

He warned his audience in advance that they would not be hearing a typical campaign address.

Cash outlined the problems the American people face and their origins, from removal of Bibles and prayer from classrooms to legalized abortion and attacks on traditional marriage and destruction of the family unit. He did not overlook the fact that Senator Lindsey Graham, his chief opponent in the Republican primary, is part of the problem, citing him as the only Republican who voted to confirm two ultra-liberal women, Elena Kagan and Sonia Sotomayor, to the United States Supreme Court.

A deeply religious man, Cash concluded that the country may be on the verge of reaping God’s judgment for drifting away from Biblical teachings and, among other things, slaughtering millions of unborn babies. If we are to receive God’s favor, we must stop the killing, and repent. He cited 2nd Chronicles 7: 13 and 14.

The answer is found in verse 14: “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from Heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

Cash appealed to the hundreds of attendees for funds to pay for TV ads like one viewed by the audience.

Cash cited Graham’s popularity numbers dropping from 70 percent to less than 50 percent in the past year.  He drew enthusiastic cheers when he proclaimed: “Graham should be defeated, can be defeated and must be defeated.”

The father of eight children, Cash stressed that we must recover  and secure our heritage for the next generation.

The candidate’s appearance was preceded by a mini-concert by Steven Curtis Chapman who was popular with the audience. Following the event, several attendees who knew little about Cash previously said they were convinced to vote for him in the Republican primary.
