Senator Jim DeMint was the Keynote Speaker at the Veterans Day celebration on the grounds of the Bi Lo Center, Friday, November 6, sponsored by the BiLo Center and the Col. Robert Anderson Chapter, Sons of the American Revolution. Music was provided by the Travelers Rest High School Band. The ceremonial bell was provided by the Furman University Army ROTC unit.

Greenville County Sheriff Steve Loftis led the Pledge of Allegiance and Avery Taylor, Commander, Chapter 523, Vietnam Veterans of America conducted the Prisoner of War, Missing in Action observance.

Lt. Col. Stephen Shivers USMC (Ret) discussed the U.S. history of warefare and sacrifice by military personnel and families.

The USMC Ammunition Company firing team fired the ceremonial rifle volley, and the Invocation was presented by Major Joseph Windley, Southside High School JROTC.

S. Roger Newton, Executive Director of the BiLo Center welcomed guests and Mark Anthony, South Carolina Society Secretary, Sons of the American Revolution recognized special guests, and Courtney Arnold provided special music.

Charlie Porter, Past President of the Col. Robert Anderson Chapter, Sons of the American Revolution was Master of Ceremonies and delivered closing remarks.
