UPSTATE SOUTH CAROLINA

Tim-Scott-and-Dennis-Prager

Dr. Stephen Jones, president of Bob Jones University, announced today that nationally syndicated talk show host and author Dennis Prager and U.S. Senator Tim Scott (R-SC) will headline the Presidential Leadership Series at BJU this spring.

“We are delighted to host speakers at BJU who can inform and challenge our students,” said Dr. Stephen Jones. “Both of these leaders are compelling speakers and I look forward to having our students and members of the Greenville community join us for these events.”

Prager, whose show is featured locally on WGTK, will speak on “The Consequences of Secularism” Thurs., Feb. 20 at 7 p.m. in the Founder’s Memorial Amphitorium (FMA) on the BJU campus.

Scott, who was appointed by Governor Nikki Haley to fill the unexpired term of former U.S. Senator Jim DeMint in Dec. 2012, will speak Tues., April 22 at 7 p.m. in the FMA.  Prior to his appointment to the U.S. Senate, Scott served as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, the South Carolina House of Representatives and Charleston County Council. Further information about Senator Scott’s address will be released closer to the event.

Both events are free and open to the public.  Doors to the FMA will open at 6:30 p.m.  Parking is available in the parking garage located directly behind Rodeheaver Auditorium as well as on campus streets.
