Subpoenas Issued in NLRBs actions against Boeing in South Carolina
House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-CA) issued a subpoena to the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) and Acting General Counsel Lafe Solomon Sunday, August 7th, as part of its investigation into NLRB actions against the Boeing Company.
The NLRB recently challenged a decision by Boeing to locate a jetliner assembly operation in South Carolina, a Right to Work State, instead of at a union shop in Washington state. The subpoena was issued after the agency defied Chairman Issa’s requests for documents related to the Boeing case.

Scandals in the Classroom

A national scandal hit the news when Georgia Governor Nathan Deal released a 413-page report describing how hundreds of Atlanta public school teachers and principals had been cheating during the past ten years on standardized tests in order to falsely report that their schools were doing a good job and the kids were improving. A total of 178 teachers and principals (38 were principals), 82 of whom have already confessed, had fraudulently raised test scores so their schools would meet test targets set by the district and thereby qualify for federal funds.

The South Carolina Republican Legislative Delegation is making history by representing their constituents even if it means going against their party leadership in Congress. The national media has noted that the South Carolina Republicans actually pray before making important decisions, seeking divine guidance rather than the guidance of the president or congressional leaders. This is apparently a unique and revolutionary practice in 2011Washington, D. C.
The Greenville County Republican Party Executive Committee unanimously passed a resolution Monday night commending the delegation for “their votes to halt the out of control and irresponsible spending of the federal government,” and encouraged them to “continue to vote in accordance with principles of limited government and low taxes.”

Thanks to Lyndon Johnson, Attorney General Eric Holder Can Overrule State Decision

State Senator Phil Shoopman briefed the Greenville County Republican Party Executive Committee on the new congressional district boundaries drawn by a senate committee on which Shoopman served. Lines must be redrawn after the census each 10 years, to equalize the population in each congressional district.
Due to population growth in the Palmetto State, the state will now have 7 congressmen instead of 6. Five of the six districts are now represented by Republicans.
The senator used the map of congressional districts and chart shown on Page 16 of this issue to illustrate his message.
Obama's Fault?
- Details
- By Ray Simmons
There seems to be a great tendency among conservatives to blame our current state of affairs on President Obama. While I agree that Obama has done much to weaken our nation financially and militarily since taking office, has vastly increased the powers of the Executive Branch of government, and that his goal is the destruction of our Democratic Republic and its replacement with a socialist form of Dictatorship or Oligarchy, I cannot hold him totally responsible for where we find ourselves. I must place a considerable share of the blame upon myself and my fellow Christians. It is we who have failed to hold our government accountable for its actions and have allowed it to move away from the doctrines upon which it was founded.
Unwise Cuts in National Defense to Finance Social Programs, Reduce Deficit

President Obama has developed a strategy that will “gut the United States Armed Forces,” leaving the republic vulnerable to foreign aggression defended by a “hollow force” with reduced manpower, outdated weapons and reduced readiness to perform its primary mission.
The frightening part of the strategy is that Obama will receive a lot of support from Congress. Defense cuts is one of the aspects of the secret talks currently taking place between the President and congressional leaders at the White House.

Conway Belangia Answers Questions for Taxpayers
Conway Belangia, Director of Elections for Greenville County for the past 19 years, was a guest speaker at the July meeting of the Greenville County Taxpayers’ Association.
Belangia sees his primary mission to be insuring elections are fair. The hottest current topic is the new state law that requires voters to present a photo ID in addition to a registration card prior to being allowed to cast a ballot.
Republicans believe the requirement is necessary to ensure only people eligible to vote in a particular precinct are who they say they are. Democrats claim the law discriminates against the elderly and others who do not have a drivers license or a photo ID card issued by the Highway Department.

Panetta, Mullen Certified Troops are Ready for “San Francisco Army”
On Friday Afternoon, July 22nd, during all the panic over the debt limit, President Obama quietly announced that he was signing the documents that will repeal “Don’t Ask, don’t Tell” effective September 20th. The repeal will, in the words of Columbia Christians for Life, headed by a graduate of the United States Military Academy, “permit open sodomite service in US Armed Forces beginning Sept. 20, 2011.” In other words, certification means that 60 days later, open homosexuality will be allowed in the United States military for the first time in the nation’s history.

Congratulations to Greece!

Our hearty congratulations, praise, and thanks go to Greece this week. The Greek government pulled off a great surprise by blocking the attempted departure from Greece of the "flotilla" of nine ships that were to be headed to the Gaza territory of Israel to challenge Israel's maritime blockade of Gaza.
Yes, it was a pleasant and unexpected surprise to see another Middle East country take some pro-Israel action for a change. The entire Middle East has always been strongly pro-Arab and anti-Israel, mainly because of the dominant Arab population in the area.
Harry Potter and Pop Culture Paganism

One night recently school age children lined up at theatres at midnight to see the latest Harry Potter movie. Some were wearing Harry Potter outfits and others were dressed or marked to appear like other characters in Harry Potter stories. What is the attraction? Where were the parents? Where were the Christians? Where were the Christian pastors?
Parents have accepted the excuse that Harry Potter is merely children’s fantasy, and therefore is harmless. Elementary teachers have been sold the same story and that the books are helpful in getting students interested in reading.
Lee and Jackson – The Lexington Years

Lee and Jackson. These two names struck terror into the hearts of many a Union soldier and gave confidence and hope to thousands of Confederates during the War Between the States. Together they, along with their fellow gray-clad generals and the armies that they led, were quite the match for the larger armies of the North.
Thomas Jonathan “Stonewall” Jackson and Robert E. Lee had much in common. They were both native-born Virginians, although Jackson was born in a part of Virginia that would later become West Virginia. Both of them graduated from West Point Military Academy. Both were also educators of military cadets. They also shared a fervent faith in and reliance upon Jesus Christ as their Savior.

Free Summer Breakfast and Lunchs from Greenville County Schools
- Details
- By Frank Allen - Greenville, SC
I saw an article in your paper recently concerning free summer breakfasts and lunchs from the Greenville county schools. I can hardly express my disgust with this concept, or list all the things wrong with it. First, and primary, is the fact that it is just wrong; there is no Constitutional basis for feeding people, though I would support it in emergencies; there is an obligation for parents to provide for their own children. Lunch at schools is one thing, as children are required by law to be there all day, though I can remember bagging sandwiches to school as a child. Breakfast is a different thing, and should be provided at home. But to offer these meals when children aren't even in school? How is that justified or explained?
Understanding President Obama

The actions of President Barack Obama frequently contradict his spoken words. In fact, his actions are so contrary to the U. S. Constitution and traditional American behavior, that some of our fellow citizens pass him off as being young and inexperienced, or even “dumb.” His life has been cloaked in secrecy, making it virtually impossible for anyone to assess his motives accurately without a basic understanding of the theories espoused by his Marxist and socialist mentors.

It is a catastrophic human tragedy that foreigners understand what is happening to the United States of America much better than a majority of the American people. Many home-grown and educated Americans are blinded to the essential facts of history because we have been brainwashed, manipulated and deceived by a small group of dedicated evil advocates of socialism that is totally contrary to the founding principles of our republic.
Obama's Mandate for Change?
- Details
- By Dr. Al Snyder
Barack Obama believes he was elected to the United States presidency with a mandate for change. But he does not seem to realize that this mandate was not intended for U.S. relations with Israel.
He recently spoke out again with dictation to Israel to give half of their precious little national land to occupying Arabs, so those supposedly poor, abused Arabs can have their own independent state. He dictated again that Israel should return to the pre-1967 Six Day War borders. And he had the audacity to add that they should do this within 30 days.

The attitude of the Liberal Media tends to be that, “If we don’t report it, it is not news.” Sometimes network affiliates and local newspapers owned by conglomerates are forced to report important events, but due to self-imposed political correctness rules the stories do not go beyond the local area. This seems to be especially true where events have racial overtones.
