Skelton’s Days In Columbia Numbered
- Details
- By Ken Hausman - Sarasota, FL
As far as electoral travesties go, the case of the Republican primary for the District 3 seat in the State Assembly beats them all. Clemson resident Ed Harris, who defeated incumbent B. R. Skelton in the balloting, had earlier been thrown off the ballot by the state Supreme Court along with 200 or so other candidates based on the questionable pretext of a filing error. Shortly thereafter, Pickens County GOP Chairman Phillip Bowers, concluding that Mr. Harris had properly filed on paper as well as by E-mail the required document, reinstated Mr. Harris on the ballot. Mr. Harris, a strong conservative, went on to win the election, which is where the story should have ended.
Charles (Charlie) Waller, “The Grand Ole Gospel Man”

When I began to write “The Gospel Music Corner,” I said that not only would the feature be about groups and artists but also about folks who had made an impact on the gospel music industry. This week’s feature is without question about one person who has impacted the gospel music industry nationwide, as well as the upstate, as much if not more than any other person.
This person is Charles (Charlie) Waller, “The Grand Ole Gospel Man.” Charlie is one of the more colorful people in Southern Gospel Music. He loves traditional Southern Gospel Music and works tirelessly to promote and preserve it. Charlie was born in 1948 (a very good year) in Waynesboro, Mississippi. Today he divides his time between Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, and Georgia.

“Everything I Know about the Bible I Learned on the Farm”- A Book Review

Jim Geyer is a blessed man. He grew up on a farm. Many of his generation received that blessing although, at the time, it may not have been recognized as a blessing, because work was hard, winters and summers were harsh, and conveniences were scarce. There were no cell-phones, television, I-pods or inside plumbing. In fact many modern crop-harvesting machines had not been invented.

Efforts Could Drastically Change Direction of State in November
Immediately following the unprecedented South Carolina Supreme Court decision that deleted more than 200 Republican and Democrat candidates from primary ballots, conservative patriot organizations across the state, led by RINO Hunt, launched a non-partisan petition signing effort labeled “Operation Lost Vote.” At least 150 candidates collected petition signatures and submitted them to the appropriate election commission for verification.

The Real Question Should Be: What is Obama Hiding?

On 7/11/12, Julie Pace of the Associated Press, by way-of-the Anderson Independent-Mail of Anderson writes that the Obama election campaign has a politically loaded question it 'wants voters to think about': What is Mitt Romney hiding? Obviously, liberal Pace is hoping to help the Democrats in their attempts to change the subject from the weak economy which they have 'taken the lead' in creating. The subject in question is Romney's not bringing forth records of his private finances which he has in a blind, off-shore trust, which is standard procedure for many.

The motive behind the Fast and Furious cover-up scandal that has resulted in the President invoking “Executive Privilege” and made national headlines recently is believed to be an Obama administration plot to justify more restrictive gun laws in the United States. They are attacking the Second Amendment of the Constitution on many fronts. They know that the Second Amendment is the American peoples’ last line of defense against tyrannical government and is plainly stated:

Obamacare Is A Lie, President Obama Is A Liar

Thanks to an inept Presidential Candidate, Mitt Romney, most all Republicans and a whole host of pathetic TV and Radio commentators, including FoxNews, it is incredible just how much misunderstanding and misinformation there is about Obamacare. For starters, there is much general discussion of the increasing total costs of Obamacare (which is essentially very unconvincing political oratory); but there is almost no discussion of the costs of the many individual programs.

The Grand Opening of the Henderson County Republican Party’s new headquarters held Saturday evening at the new office in the Brookdale Square shipping center on Greenville Highway was successful beyond expectations. The place was jam-packed for nearly two hours.
Based on the number of plates used and the amount of food consumed, attendance was over 200. It put a little pressure on the air conditioner for awhile, but to everyone’s delight, a kindly thundershower created a cool breeze between the front and back door.

The Government Gets Broader Taxing Powers

- By Don Maresca - Bluffton, SC
With Justice John Roberts’ ruling on Obamacare, the fallout and implications are many. Conservatives consider him a turncoat, who acquiesced to political pressure from the left. Others consider him a genius who limited legislative power over the commerce clause, and hung a tax millstone around Obama's neck going into the election. Liberals celebrate more government overreach. Whatever his reasons, Obamacare remains the law.
Obamacare as I See It from a UK Immigrant

I was brought up under a socialist system that I never questioned. It was only after I came to America and started my own business that I did an about turn.
It was a sad day in America when the Supreme Court ruled that Obamacare was legal which required John Roberts' convoluted reasoning that it is a tax. He betrayed us all by relegating to the dustbin the Constitution despite his sworn pledge to uphold the peoples rights, thereby putting in jeopardy all Americans and future generations.

I believe that I am an eyewitness to history. I cannot tell you that Hitler took Austria by tanks and guns; it would distort history. We elected him by a landslide - 98% of the vote. I've never read that in any American publications. Everyone thinks that Hitler just rolled in with his tanks and took Austria by force.
In 1938, Austria was in deep Depression. Nearly one-third of our workforce was unemployed. We had 25% inflation and 25% bank loan interest rates.

Voters Must Seek Truth, Avoid Deception

Voters in the November 6, 2012, General Election have a serious challenge. More than ever before, they are faced with choosing a candidate for President of the United States in the absence of facts and in the presence of much misinformation. The campaign of the incumbent is based on pure fiction and must continue in that vein to have any hope of success.
The challenger apparently lacks the courage to expose the incumbent and his clearly demonstrated plan to destroy the constitutional republic envisioned and created by the Founders so he can transform the nation into a socialist dictatorship envisioned by the enemies of the Constitution of the United States. The timid Republican challenge is essentially that our candidate can do a better job than your candidate can.

Obama Censors the Declaration of Independence
- Details
- By Phyllis Schlafly
Who does President Barack Obama think he is that he can change the wording of the Declaration of Independence? Again and again he presumes to quote the great Declaration while making a significant change: he omits the word “Creator.”
Americans know that the Declaration of Independence proclaims as a matter of fact that they “are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights.” But when Obama recites this line, he omits the word “Creator.”
Listen carefully to how Obama censors that famous line. Here are his own words: “all men are created equal, that each of us are endowed with certain inalienable rights.” He doesn’t say who endowed us.

As she got older, things began to happen. As they did, she recorded them in her journal. Grammy and Dove award nominations as well as appearances with Billy Graham and President Bush. Touring with Bill and Gloria Gaither. Those journal entries have helped her gain perspective on life, they’ve become words for songs, and now they are the basis for her first book, “The Good Road.”

Five New Taxes Begin January 1st, 2013
President Obama, the Congressional Democrats and the Supreme Court that gave us Obamacare made certain the taxes imposed did not kick in until after the election of 2012. But they start with a vengeance on January 1, regardless of the outcome of the presidential and congressional elections.
The Obamacare law actually contains 20 new or higher taxes on the American people. Like all successful deceptive government practices, they take effect gradually. John Kartch, director of communications for Americans for Tax Reform, lists the five taxes taking effect on Americans on January 1, 2013:

“Those that can’t remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” ~ George Santayana

Walking into the Museum and Library of Confederate history I was unsure of what to expect. Being raised in the South I thought I knew what the war was about and there wasn’t much else for me to be told. I even thought for a moment while walking into the building that I would be confronted by someone filled with Caucasian pride, ready to fill my head with nonsense. But, that was not the case.
Entering the museum I was greeted with education, and an eyeopening experience. Lined above the hallway decorated with antiqued, framed photographs were numerous versions of the confederate flag. Some of the versions that I was looking at were the first I had ever seen them displayed.

Repeating the Mistakes of History
Both Presidents Lyndon Johnson and Richard Nixon thought that the biggest mistake of the Vietnam War was President Kennedy’s involvement in the overthrow of South Vietnamese President Ngo Dinh Diem in November 1963. My eyes were glued to Fox News Thursday morning to hear the Supreme Court Decision on “Obamacare.” I was convinced that it would be partly or completely declared unconstitutional, because it is. The surprise decision came like a swift kick in the stomach. For a few moments, waves of anger punctuated by a feeling of nausea consumed me. How could this happen? What is happening to our country? The Supreme Court has given the federal government power never intended by the Founders or allowed by the Constitution.
