The Life of John Morrison Birch – Christian Missionary, Pastor, U.S. Army Captain, 1940 to 1945 (Part 2)
- By W.H. Lamb
In Part 1 of this series I asked the question: What impels a young man to embark on a life of missionary service to his LORD and Savior? It became clear, during my research, that John Birch received his “calling” to be a missionary from his Savior, Jesus, and he received that calling at a young age. He never turned back from serving his Savior, nor did he hesitate from going into harm’s way many times during that service. John was characterized by Robert Welch as “a simple, but highly intelligent man, who worked hard to serve God, spread God’s Word, and fought for the freedom to do so.” Many times during his wartime service, Birch longed for the day when he could farm his own land, marry and raise a family, and continue to serve God in his own way.
Rubio: 'It Looks Like His Plan Is a Medieval-Type Siege'
- By Tony Perkins - Family Research Council
She's become the face of Ukrainian mothers, a Kyiv tour guide who now wonders if anything will be left of the city to visit. Now, she's underground, doing emotional interviews with American media with her two boys and a baby in her lap. Her husband, like all men his age, has joined the country's defense force, and she has no idea if her boys will still have a father when everything is over. People ask why she didn't leave. It's my home, she replies. "If I stay here, [my husband] will fight better, because I will inspire him to be super strong -- like he inspires me to be super strong."
On Wednesday, she seized a rare moment to take her kids home for a quick bath and stock up on things most moms take for granted: diapers, drinking water, and warm clothes. She tried to encourage the kids to play, but in a heartbreaking moment that revealed how much things had changed in her country, they wanted to leave. "They were afraid to stay at home. They were asking all the time, 'Are bombs flying?'" It's a terror the adults like Olena understand. "There is the feeling, the constant fear, like it is somewhere in my stomach... somewhere in my heart."
A New Credit Score: ESG
- By Anne Schlafly Cori
We mind our personal investments, but do we mind how our investments are invested? Many of the state pension funds and personal retirement accounts are farmed out to large investment houses, such as Vanguard, Fidelity, or BlackRock. Those three companies have trillions of dollars of assets under management and, thus, enormous power and influence in the marketplace.
For example, the CEO of BlackRock, Larry Fink, is explicit in his embrace of “Environmental and Social Governance”, which seeks to use social justice ideology and the supposed “threat” of climate change to force public companies to change how they run their businesses. He is pushing oil companies to go green, even though “green” energy costs more in energy than it produces. Vanguard and Fidelity have also bought into ESG and both investment houses use ESG scores to evaluate the companies in which they invest.

Lynz Piper-Loomis, Candidate for U.S. Congress, SC-01
- By Lynz Piper-Loomis, candidate for U.S. Congress, SC-01
War has been waged upon our soil. It has seeped in through our children's education, political parties, churches, borders, business, medical care, and through venues unimaginable. We are in a crisis unlike the public opinion of my opponent.
I know we are all used to hearing the career politician stand up and tell us how awesome they are, feed us the same boring cliches we have heard a million times before, and explain why we NEED them in Washington.
How well has that worked for us? Clearly, those sentiments are a disappointment to every single American.
Look around at our world today and ask yourself the tough questions:
1. Does anything make sense to you?
2. Can you believe what you are witnessing?
Gas-Tax-Hike Surplus Swells Over Past Year
- By Rick Brundrett - The Nerve
As South Carolina motorists over the past year have been paying more in state gasoline taxes – on top of skyrocketing gas prices – the surplus from revenues generated under the 2017 gas-tax-hike law jumped by nearly $300 million, records show.
As of Jan. 31, the cash balance of a special fund created with the law stood at $1.05 billion – $297.9 million, or about 40%, more than the total surplus a year earlier, according to state Department of Transportation and comptroller general records. The increase was $46 million greater compared to the previous annual growth in the reserves.
Looking at it another way, the current surplus equals about $260 for every driver with a regular South Carolina license.
Without an American Renewal, Putin's Aggression Is Only a Preview of Troubles Ahead
- By Neil Patel
Since the end of World War II, the United States has been the world's dominant force. Marked by relative peace and prosperity, it's been an amazingly successful period for America and for the world. Certainly, measured by world historical standards, the U.S. has little to apologize for and much to be proud of. The first four decades of this period were defined by the Cold War. When the Soviet Union collapsed, the U.S. became the unchallenged power in the world. As much as this was celebrated at the time, America's actions since then have eroded this advantage. Having squandered a historic opportunity, Washington is now faced with a challenge unlike any other before it.
Is a Russia-NATO Clash Over Ukraine Ahead?
- By Pat Buchanan
When Hungarian rebels arose in 1956 to overthrow the Communist regime imposed by Joseph Stalin, President Dwight Eisenhower refused to send U.S. forces to aid the Hungarians.
Ike would not take America to war with Russia over a small country in Central Europe.
While the Hungarians were heroic and inspirational, Hungary was neither a member of NATO nor a vital U.S. interest. Moreover, it was on the Soviet side of the Yalta line dividing Europe, and agreed to by Franklin D. Roosevelt, Joseph Stalin and Winston Churchill at Yalta in 1945.
For similar reasons today, President Joe Biden has refused to send U.S. troops, ships or planes to attack Russian forces invading Ukraine.
Biden’s Agenda Falls Short in State of the Union Address
- By Eagle Forum
As President Biden gave his State of the Union address this week, we couldn’t help but miss the days of the Trump administration. The most pro-life President in history was replaced by an administration determined to solidify taxpayer-funded abortion up until birth. Our strong defense and America-first policies set forth by President Trump were erased only for this administration to enact open borders, woke military, and pro-China policies instead. Perhaps, the worst of the first year of the Biden administration came in the form of authoritarian mandates. His address ended up being a roller coaster ride of calls of unification despite his leftist agenda and intent to undermine what could be seen as his conservative leanings.

American Efforts to Save Children in Konotop, Ukraine
- By MercyProjects.org
MURRIETA, Calif. -- Today, Russian soldiers walked through crowded streets in Konotop, Ukraine, threatening to release hand grenades if the people of this city in northeast Ukraine did not submit to them.
Mayor Artem Semenikhin, rallied the people in this town in Sumy Oblast, just 100 miles from the Russian border, and they resisted the soldiers, placing their lives at risk by their defiance.
MercyProjects (MercyProjects.org), headed by Jeff Thompson, has helped build and sustain the Hearts of Love Center in Konotop since 2005. The facility, under the direction of Lena Yuschenko, serves about 55 special needs children each week.
AFPAC Versus America Last GOP
- By Michelle Malkin
GOP House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy returned from a congressional junket to Israel this week and immediately surrendered to the woke corporate media and leftist smear merchants. Is this the kind of America Last "leadership" that grassroots conservatives want if Republicans take back Congress in November?
McCarthy told a CNN reporter on Monday that it was "appalling and wrong" for Republican Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., and Paul Gosar, R-Ariz., to speak to the annual America First Political Action Conference, or AFPAC. I have personally addressed and supported AFPAC since its inception in 2019. It is the authentic alternative to the moldy, Swamp-run Conservative Political Action Conference, or CPAC, from which a rising generation of staunch immigration restrictionists and conservative Christians are banned and blacklisted (including me) -- while drag queens, foreign sponsors, and Big Tech titans Google and Facebook have been welcomed by CPAC with open arms.

nfant Messaging: Dems' Abortion Bill Shows First Priorities
- By Tony Perkins - Family Research Council
For the men and women milling about the Senate floor, it was a surreal moment. They'd been back in session barely two hours -- the first time, many will point out, since Vladimir Putin unleashed his war against the West. But instead of joining the rest of the world in racing to stop the threat against Europe, Democrats had other priorities: the spilling of innocent blood here at home. For the president's party, the timing of their unlimited abortion bill vote will be another thing Americans won't forget this November. It was a disturbing snapshot of the Left's leadership team, who made one of the first orders of business after Russia invaded Ukraine advancing their own war on the unborn.
Return of the 'Evil Empire'
- By Star Parker
Regardless of what any American feels about what steps we should take in response to Russian President Vladimir Putin's aggressive incursion into Ukraine, for sure most are appalled by what he has done.
As Putin moves to regain Russian control over nations that once were part of the Soviet sphere, we ought to think about the circumstances under which the Soviet Union collapsed to consider how it all might be reversed.
In March 1983, President Ronald Reagan spoke to the National Association of Evangelicals in Orlando, Florida, and delivered what would famously become known as the speech in which he called the Soviet Union the "evil empire."

"For this reason, One For Israel is asking U.S. Christians to commit to 31 days of bold intercession for Israel. Do not underestimate the impact of your prayers in encouraging, supporting and uplifting the Jews and Arabs who are sharing the Gospel with Israel, making disciples, training leaders and blessing our communities in the name of Yeshua (Jesus)."

Biden: Fenced in after a Year of Failure
- By Tony Perkins - Family Research Council
Working at the White House hasn't exactly been a bed of roses lately, but you have to feel for the speechwriters. Trying to spin a year's worth of disasters into a triumph of modern liberalism would be hard even for the best fiction writers. And yet, heading into Tuesday's State of the Union speech, that's the task facing this president: pretending that his failures overseas, the high prices at home, and the deep unpopularity of this administration are all a fulfillment of his promise to do "great things."
After 13 months of Joe Biden, no one is confident that the man who vowed to answer "the call of history" could even find the phone. In a single year, Americans have gone from economic, energy, border, and national security to dancing on a knife's edge of inflation, crime, disunity, global upheaval, and war. The last time Joe Biden addressed a joint session of Congress, many have pointed out, he said the country was "ready for takeoff." How ironic, then, that he's stuck explaining his crash landing on everything from Kabul to omicron.
New Study Reveals Strength of Evangelical Desire to Visit Israel
- By Christian Newswire
EXPORT, Penn. -- Although only 7% of evangelical Protestants have visited Israel, eight out of ten are interested in doing so, including 40% who are extremely interested in visiting.
These findings are detailed in The Holy Land Journey: Evangelicals and Israel Travel. The study of over 1,000 American evangelical Protestants was released today by Infinity Concepts and Grey Matter Research.
Evangelicals are somewhat less likely than Americans in general to have traveled internationally. Only 56% of evangelicals have ventured outside the US, compared to 71% of Americans overall (according to Pew Research Center).
Health Insurer: Government Is WRONG on COVID-vax Side-effects; Real Numbers Are an “Alarm Signal”
- By Selwyn Duke - The New American
Around New Year’s, an American insurance company executive sounded an alarm. We’re seeing the highest non-COVID death rates in his business’ history, he said, with numbers so bad that it’s worse than “a one-in-200-year catastrophe.” Now a German health insurer has weighed in, issuing findings that can explain this phenomenon and point to what many have alleged: Authorities have greatly under-reported coronavirus “vaccine” complications.

Is Putin Considering Using Nukes on NATO?
- By Pat Buchanan
From his principal avenues of attack on Ukraine, Russian President Vladimir Putin began this war with three strategic goals.
Send an army south from Belarus to capture Ukraine's capital, Kyiv, and replace the government. Send forces into northeast Ukraine to capture its second largest city, Kharkiv, with 1.4 million people.
Third, extend the Donetsk enclave westward to establish a land bridge to Crimea and give Russia full control of the Sea of Azov and most of the Ukrainian coast along the Black Sea.
This last objective is almost achieved. Yet, as of Monday evening, five days into the war, neither Kyiv nor Kharkiv had fallen, though Russia had committed most of the troops it had assembled for the invasion.
Our Energy Can Deter Aggressive Dictators
- By Eagle Forum
The United States has the resources to solve the current international crisis by following these steps. Peace comes through strength and energy independence is a deterrent to adversaries.
Just two years ago, the United States was not only energy independent but an oil exporter. Since February 2021, the gas prices in the U.S. have skyrocketed 40 percent due to the Biden administration policy. Meanwhile, Russia producers nearly tripled shipments of oil to the U.S. in 2021 (Global Energy). The U.S. and Europe are now dependent on Russian oil. This U.S. weakness helps Russia to finance the war in the Ukraine, and Russia’s arsenal includes cyberattacks against the U.S.
The State of the Union Is ... Broke
- By Stephen Moore
To quote a screaming John McEnroe: You cannot be serious!
Last week, the Biden administration requested another $30 billion for COVID relief programs. Yes, I know that these days, $30 billion is a rounding error in the $6 trillion federal budget. But isn't that precisely the problem?
But, as Joe would say: Come on, man! The White House's latest plea for more money on top of the $4 trillion to $5 trillion is an insult. Biden wants $18 billion for antivirals, $5 billion for testing and $3 billion to combat future viruses.
Isn't that already the job of the $7 billion-a-year CDC?
