Is Our Country A Government of Good Laws or a Government of Bad Men?
- By W.H. Lamb
Much of what follows in this article was taken from or inspired by a great brochure, “Back to Basics” (Timeless Truths Series) published by The John Birch Society, to which my wife and I have belonged for about 58 years. Although I’ve written on this subject numerous times in the past here in The Times Examiner, this information—this discussion of foundational principles—is so important that much of it bears repeating, for we are currently living in a nation whose government has shamelessly, purposely, and seemingly without fear of resistance from our people, ABANDONED the Constitutional form of government set up for our republic by the wisdom of our Founders back in 1787.
"Little Short of a Miracle!" Constitution Day, Sept 17
- By Eagle Forum
“Every true American and true friend of liberty should love our inspired Constitution. Its creation was a miracle.” — Ezra Taft Benson
This past Friday, September 17th marked the 233rd anniversary of the adoption of the United States Constitution by the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1787.
The whole process of founding this nation was a miracle as John Adams so aptly expressed before the signing of the Declaration of Independence, “There’s a divinity that shapes our ends.”
America Celebrated 234th Constitution Day
- By Liberty Counsel
WASHINGTON -- Today Americans celebrate the day the Founding Fathers signed the U.S. Constitution on September 17, 1787.
Constitution Day, once known as Citizenship Day, commemorates the U.S. Constitution. On September 17th in 1787, the delegates to the Constitutional Convention met for the last time to sign the document they had created. The original states, except Rhode Island, collectively appointed 70 individuals to the Constitutional Convention. In all, 55 delegates attended the Constitutional Convention sessions, but only 39 actually signed or were able to sign the Constitution. The delegates ranged in age from Jonathan Dayton, 26, to Benjamin Franklin, 81, who had to be carried to sessions in a sedan chair.
Sorry, AOC, The Rich Already Pay Their Fair Share
- By David Harsanyi
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez donned an elegant gown with the slogan "Tax the Rich" painted on the back at the Met Gala in New York, where guests selected by Vogue's Anna Wintour ponied up around $35,000 a pop for tickets. The scene was reminiscent of Tom Wolfe's "radical chic" -- though rather than being guests of the well-heeled in Park Avenue duplexes, today's revolutionaries own luxury condos and drive around in government-subsidized electric cars that most Americans could never afford.
Legislative Infighting: Inside a Dysfunctional Delegation
- By Rick Brundrett - The Nerve
In South Carolina, county legislative delegations – made up of state House and Senate members representing a county – have considerable power on their home turfs.
As The Nerve has pointed out, delegations make appointments to various local boards and committees, including school boards in some counties and most county transportation committees, which decide which local road projects to fund with part of the state gasoline tax.
Senate delegations – sometimes just one senator – control the selection process of county magistrates, while county delegations exert nomination powers over master-in-equity judges, as The Nerve has reported.
Americans Souring on Biden -- and Washington
- By Pat Buchanan
The California recall election turned out well for the Democrats.
With Gov. Gavin Newsom sinking in the summer polls, the party had been staring starkly at the prospect of losing the nation's largest state and seeing its governor replaced by talk-show host Larry Elder, who had vaulted into the lead among the 46 candidates seeking to replace Newsom.
Elder had rallied Republicans and started to surge, which terrified the Democrats. Not only might they lose Newsom, but they could get in the governor's mansion in Sacramento what leftists took to calling "the black face of white supremacy."
The Biden Administration Blatant Disregard for Life
- By Eagle Forum
After four years of the most pro-life administration ever, we knew what was coming when Joe Biden was elected President: all all-out war on children. Presidential candidate Joe Biden made it clear that he would be a champion for abortion and support transgenderism in children. This set the foundation of what was to come. Children both inside and outside the womb would not be safe as long as Biden is in office.
In Biden’s first days in the White House, he repealed the Mexico City Policy, an executive order that prevented taxpayer funds to promote abortion overseas. A Marist poll shows that 77% of Americans opposed this action. However, the Biden administration has never been in-tune with the will of the American people.
Open Treason on Trump?
- By Tony Perkins - Family Research Council
General Mark Milley wasn't exactly inundated with friend requests after he helped botch the disastrous situation in Afghanistan. In fact, when President Biden said it was on the general's advice that he closed Bagram Air Base, entire editorial boards were calling for the Joint Chief Chair's resignation. But long before Kabul, an unflattering picture of Milley had already emerged. His defense of critical race theory and the president's absurd climate change-as-a-security threat led many people to wonder if America's top military leader had turned woke. Now, after Tuesday's bombshells, they wonder if he's a turncoat.

- By Stanton Public Policy Center/Purple Sash Revolution

The name of the event is Pray to End Abortion #DismantleRoe and has a Facebook Event Page with more information.
Immune from Reason: Biden's Mandate Ignites a Nation
- By Tony Perkins - Family Research Council
For most Democrats, creating political distractions is an art form. Not so much for Joe Biden, whose idea of changing the conversation on Afghanistan was starting a civil war over the COVID vaccine. Late last week, when the president threw down his national mandate, it was like taking people's minds off burnt toast by setting your house on fire. Sure, it got Americans to stop talking about the Taliban, but only because they were on the phone with their attorneys looking for ways to sue the government.
All It Takes Is 1
- By Michelle Malkin
"One is the loneliest number," Three Dog Night famously sang over five decades ago. But all it takes is one brave soul fighting against the tide to inspire 10. Ten become hundreds. Hundreds become thousands. Thousands become millions. Millions become a new majority.
Riverside County, California, Sheriff Chad Bianco is one.
On Monday, Sheriff Bianco announced he "will not enforce the (COVID-19) vaccine mandate on Sheriff's Department employees.'' In response to a cascade of draconian state directives and the Biden administration's overt war on the unvaccinated, Bianco asserted his constitutional duty to protect the public "from the criminal element, as well as being the last line of defense from tyrannical government overreach." Local media and establishment public health "experts" have condemned Bianco, but he refuses to back down:
Democrats Spend Big, and We Pay, for Their Socialist Dream
- By Star Parker
In 1983, Tom Cruise starred in the film "Risky Business." It's about wealthy parents in Chicago who go on vacation and leave the house under the stewardship of their high school-age son.
In short order, the boy throws a wild party, and the rest of the film is about the chaotic fallout.
It's the closest thing I can think of to capture current reality in Washington as the kids -- the Democrats running the White House and Congress -- throw their big party and breathlessly spend their parents' money (in this case, our money), knowing that the party will be over when adults return.
The Presidential Prayer Team Kicks Off National Week of Prayer and Renewal
- By The Presidential Prayer Team
SCOTTSDALE, Az. -- Twenty years of The Presidential Prayer Team's daily calling of Americans to pray will culminate on Saturday, September 18.
The prayer team was born out of the urgency the nation experienced on September 11, 2001. As part of recognizing the work of the ministry and God's faithfulness, they launched the 2021 National Week of Prayer and Renewal (www.pray.team/prayerweek) on the anniversary of 9/11. Each day of this week of prayer has its own prayer focus. It began on 9/11 by calling for prayer and recognition for all first responders. Members of the prayer team across the nation submitted names of friends and families who serve to be included in the prayers of thousands of others.
Americans Should Be Working Hard, Not Hardly Working
- By Stephen Moore
The Labor Department reported this week that there are now a record 10.9 million jobs open in America. That's twice the size of the entire Ohio workforce.
Yet the department also has counted some 8 million unemployed Americans. What in the world is going on here? Why aren't the 8 million workers allegedly looking for a job filling any of the 10 million open jobs? Could it be they aren't looking very hard?
Job growth fell by more than half in August, which was partly because of COVID-19 concerns and the delta variant. But there is a lot more going on here.
Talibanned: Afghan Women Brace for a New, Restrictive Normal
- By Tony Perkins - Family Research Council
When the Taliban swept through Kabul, stunning the world, leader Zabihullah Mujahid tried to soften the extremists' image. "We want to build the future and forget what happened in the past," he insisted. But forgetting will not come so easily for the West, who watched for years as hard-line Islamists brutalized their women and tortured non-conformists. Even now, reporters, former interpreters, and soldiers are being hunted down and massacred by death squads -- sparking plenty of doubts about a kinder, gentler Taliban.

Who and What Is Tearing the US Apart?
- By Pat Buchanan
In Shanksville, Pennsylvania, on Saturday, former President George W. Bush's theme was national unity -- and how it has been lost over these past 20 years.
"In the weeks and months following the 9/11 attacks," said Bush, "I was proud to lead an amazing, resilient, united people. When it comes to the unity of America, those days seem distant from our own. A malign force seems at work in our common life that turns every disagreement into an argument, and every argument into a clash of cultures."
Though he surely did not realize it, Bush had himself, moments before, given us an example of how that unity was destroyed when he drew a parallel between the terrorists of 9/11 and the Trump protesters of Jan 6. Said Bush:

The Left’s War on SCOTUS
- By Eagle Forum
The enactment of Texas’ Heartbeat Bill has again brought forth a panicked Left completely crazed with the thought of overturning Roe v. Wade.
This is nothing new for the Left. For many Democratic lawmakers and voters alike, Roe v. Wade is the defining moment for the nation’s women because it established a so-called “right to abortion.” Consequently, abortion is a hot-button topic in the Supreme Court of the United States. In the last twenty years, there have been multiple cases on differing states’ laws restricting abortion. In this coming term, the Court is set to hear Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization. This case will decide whether pre-viability restrictions, like fetal pain, can prohibit elective abortions.
Chinese Whistleblower, Virologist and Vaccine Expert Dr. Li-Meng Yan Calls for Complete Transparency from Vaccine Makers and the Biden Administration on the Need for the COVID Booster Shot
- By Christian Newswire
NEW YORK -- As the Delta variant rages, the Biden Administration wants Americans to get a booster shot beginning September 20th. However, there is lingering doubt as CDC advisors called for more data to support the boosters. Compounding the uncertainty, two top FDA vaccine officials—Dr. Marion Gruber, Director, and Dr. Phil Krause, Deputy Director of the Office of Vaccines Research and Review—suddenly resigned.
"These sudden resignations and calls for more data are very troubling," says Dr. Li-Meng Yan. "It's very risky to issue a booster without the proper scientific understanding of the virus and its variants."
Removing Robert E. Lee
- By Mike Scruggs
An Appalling Villainy of Ignorance and Woke-provoked Hatred
On September 9, the Commonwealth of Virginia, under the leadership of radicalized-woke Democrat Governor Ralph Northam, removed the giant bronze statue of mounted Confederate General Robert E. Lee from its base in Richmond. The statue had been there since 1887. It will be replaced by something more appropriate for the Social Marxist stream of lies that dominate most of America’s academia, media, and political establishment. Many of their attacks are not simply ignorance but deliberate distortion and slander. Awash in joyful virtue-signaling and ignorance, NPR, CNN, NBC, the Washington Post, and Microsoft News, celebrated with an attack on Donald Trump, who praised Lee and was deeply critical of the removal:
“Robert E. Lee is considered by many Generals to be the greatest strategist of them all,” President Lincoln wanted him to command the North… Robert E. Lee instead chose the other side because of his great love of Virginia, and except for Gettysburg, would have won the war.”

Warning: A “Faux Pas” Will Get You “Cancelled” by Freedom’s Enemies - The Culture Moonbats!
- By W.H. Lamb
What, you may ask, is a social “faux pas”? Two dictionary definitions should suffice to explain:
- “An embarrassing or tactless act or remark in a social situation;
- A significant or embarrassing error or mistake—a blunder”
To which we might add my definition of a “political ‘faux pas’:
- Any verbal statement, political act, principled stand, support of the U.S. Constitution, defense of Christianity, or admitted vote for the ‘wrong’ candidate that offends the easily offended and brain damaged vermin of the left that have infested and infected the so-called ‘social media’.
