Gun Battle at Ban Karai Pass
- By Mike Scruggs
Fire in the Night Sky
Late in evening of February 22, 1967, at the Royal Thai/U.S. Air Commando air base at Nakhon Phanom (NKP), Thailand, fire trucks, ambulances, and other emergency, service, and Air Police vehicles rolled into place on the taxiways of the 6,000-foot pierced steel planking runway. One of the 606th Air Commando squadron’s A-26 attack-bombers returning from a combat mission on the border of Laos and North Vietnam had been badly damaged in a ferocious gun battle with North Vietnamese anti-aircraft guns. With their landing gear unusable, one of their two engines shut down, a fuel leak, and one of its main landing gear tires burning, their choices were grim.
She Had True Grit – The Incredible Journey Of Marie Ioway Dorion
- By W.H. Lamb
(I’m indebted to an article in the November/December 2018 Daughters of the American Revolution magazine, American Spirit, entitled: “On The Oregon Trail”, by Bill Hudgins, for first bringing to my attention the now almost forgotten American hero, Marie Dorion (ca. 1786-1850), and from which article I quote and paraphrase freely. Other sources from which I quote somewhat freely will be listed at the end.)
Millions in S.C. Tax Dollars Shelled Out for Second ‘Phantom’ Interstate
- By Rick Brundrett - The Nerve
Interstate 73 isn’t the only nonexistent South Carolina highway that has been heavily subsidized with state tax dollars.
From fiscal 2006 through fiscal 2013, S.C. lawmakers quietly appropriated a total of $4 million for the “routing, planning, and construction” of Interstate 74, which runs through parts of North Carolina. The annual $500,000 was authorized through the same state budget proviso that funneled another $500,000 yearly for the proposed I-73 project.

Trump Impeached!
- By Ben Graydon
Is God threatened by the impeachment investigation against President Trump? To the thinking, God-knowing mind, that question is ludicrous on its face, but many people act as if they don't really believe in the sovereignty of God. Or maybe even more to the point, as if God really cares (like it could upset His plans or interfere with His power) who our president is. Now, granted, many of us believers have been rightfully excited by the presidency of Donald Trump, as he has done many wonderful things while serving in the Oval Office that no other president before has ever done. But while that is good, we ought not to hang our hats entirely upon the personal supremacy of this likeable and excellent president.
Intolerance in Academia
- By Walter Williams
If you need an accurate update on some of the madness at the nation's institutions of higher learning, check out Minding the Campus, a nonprofit independent organization. John Leo, its editor in chief, says that the organization's prime mission is dedicated to the revival of intellectual pluralism and the best traditions of liberal education at America's colleges and universities. Leo's most recent compilation of campus madness leaves one nearly breathless.
NBA Takes a Stand Against Freedom
- By Tucker Carlson & Neil Patel
We live, as you may have noticed, in the age of "woke" capitalism. Companies aren't just selling products, they're selling more than that. You see it everywhere, in movie trailers, corporate press releases and numerous TV commercials. The message is always the same: Companies aren't just soulless profit-seekers; they have values and principles. They care. They probably care more than you do. Once upon a time, corporate America flattered its customers. Now they dare you to be as virtuous as they are. Are they actually virtuous, though? Or is it a cynical ploy?

Biden's Bogus Buffoonery
- By David Limbaugh
Joe Biden's rhetoric grows more inflammatory with every new Democratic presidential poll, as rival Elizabeth Warren has surpassed him in the national polling averages and he realizes pretend moderation won't sell.
In surveying his multitudinous rivals, Biden doubtlessly sees himself as a man of superior wisdom, experience and gravitas. By gosh, he's wanted this job a lot longer than some of these upstarts have even been involved in politics, and he's paid his dues with scandal-ridden, failed efforts and an eight-year deferential stint as Barack Obama's vice president. In short, he's paid his dues just like Hillary Clinton did, and it's his time.
Is Impeachment Now Inevitable?
- By Pat Buchanan
"There go the people. I must follow them, for I am their leader," is a remark attributed to a French politician during the turbulent times of 1848.
Joe Biden's Wednesday declaration that President Donald Trump should be impeached is in that tradition. Joe is scrambling to get out in front of the sentiment for impeachment in the party he professes to lead.
California to Lead the Way in Expanding Red Flag Laws
- By Bob Adelmann - The New American
Unless California Governor Gavin Newsom vetoes them by Sunday, all nine gun control bills presently sitting on his desk will become law.
Two of the most pernicious and dangerous concern expansions of the state’s already unconstitutional red flag laws, and illustrate the dangers of passing any such laws in the first place. Once enacted politicians then find it easier to expand definitions to make them more draconian in their impact on precious rights. It isn’t hard to imagine a time in the very near future when red flag laws, all by themselves, will enable the complete disarmament of every law-abiding citizen in the country.
Order Allows Seniors Access to Social Security without Strings Attached
- By Eagle Forum
On November 8, 2018, President Eunie Smith signed a coalition letter on our behalf to President Trump. The letter asked the President to undo the administrative interpretation of both the Medicare and Social Security statues which have been preventing seniors from receiving Social Security if they waive Medicare Part A coverage. This effectively forces seniors to enroll in Medicare, which was enacted to serve as a voluntary program.
Surrendering to SPLC's Lazy Media Lemmings

ACT for America, a nationwide grassroots group that educates the public about radical Islam, was founded in 2007 by my vigilant activist friend and Lebanese Christian immigrant journalist Brigitte Gabriel. I was honored to accept Gabriel's invitation to speak at her organization's annual banquet at Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm Beach, Florida, on Nov. 7.

What Do You Believe?
- By Ray Simmons
I hope the above title will catch your interest sufficiently to have you read the opening paragraph at least. Doing a little research and checking an on-line textbook of U. S. History, I found very little about the Father of Our Country, George Washington. Using this textbook you might find out where he was and what he was doing at certain times but you would learn nothing about the man himself.

Chinese Display New Weapons That Can Easily Take Down Our Grid
- By Eagle Forum
Developments on the international front last week are of great concern. During China’s “celebration” of the 70th anniversary of the founding of its Communist Party, the world witnessed a parade of military armaments including some for which the United States has no defense. The Communist government proudly showcased an inventory of ninety DF-41 intercontinental ballistic missiles, each containing ten nuclear warheads – enough to destroy America’s strategic military targets almost two-times over.

What's Really in the USMCA?
- By Christian Gomez - The New American
The new United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) is intended to replace the 1994 North American Free Trade Agreement, known as NAFTA. As The New American has previously covered (here, here, and here), there are many problems with the USMCA that outweigh any potential economic benefits — mainly how it would erode America’s national sovereignty in favor of regional integration. Congressional Democrat lawmakers, who enjoy a majority in the House of Representatives, have not introduced implementation legislation to approve the agreement, a year after its initial text was first made public on the website of the office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) on October 1, 2018. However, the once seemingly intransigent Democrats are now starting to make indications that they’ve arrived at, or are at the very least close to reaching, a consensus with U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer, after a year of back-and-forth negotiations.
Northeast Syria: A Beacon of Religious Freedom that Deserves Our Protection
- By Travis Weber & Arielle Del Turco - Family Research Council
Turkey just announced its plan to attack one of the few oases of religious freedom in the Middle East -- and it is doing so after President Trump began withdrawing U.S. troops from a part of northeast Syria.
Yet backing out of Northeast Syria is a betrayal of our friends and allies, a disavowal of our values, and will work against our long-term interests in the region. It could also lead to the death and displacement of thousands of religious minorities who have found protection under the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria.

Is Trump At Last Ending Our 'Endless Wars'?
- By Pat Buchanan
The backstage struggle between the Bush interventionists and the America-firsters who first backed Donald Trump for president just exploded into open warfare, which could sunder the Republican Party.
At issue is Trump's decision to let the Turkish army enter Northern Syria, to create a corridor between Syrian Kurds and the Turkish Kurds of the PKK, which the U.S. and Turkey regard as a terrorist organization.
"A catastrophe in the making," says Lindsey Graham. "To abandon the Kurds" would be a "stain on America's honor."
Idiotic Environmental Predictions
- By Walter Williams
The Competitive Enterprise Institute has published a new paper, "Wrong Again: 50 Years of Failed Eco-pocalyptic Predictions." Keep in mind that many of the grossly wrong environmentalist predictions were made by respected scientists and government officials. My question for you is: If you were around at the time, how many government restrictions and taxes would you have urged to avoid the predicted calamity?
