Observation of a First Grade Teacher on Socialism
- By Johnnelle Raines - Pickens, SC
I have an observation I think proves our nation is indeed in trouble and leaning heavily toward socialism.
When I first began my teaching career in 1974 as a first-grade teacher, I always read aloud daily to my students. The Ant and the Grasshopper and The Little Red Hen were two favorites that the students loved to hear.
After I read these books aloud, I would always ask for what the students thought the author was trying to teach us ... what was his/her main idea?

"Smart" is Destroying America
- By Michelle Mancini - Bluffton, SC
Smart electric water and gas meters have been, and are being installed on homes and businesses without individuals informed consent. These meters are health, privacy and safety hazards that violate our Fourth Amendment. With “smart," everything you do is sent to a data bank.
If “smart” meters were in our best interest, they would sell themselves and would not have communities around the world resisting or states and municipalities here legislating against them. There would be no need to coerce the public for their installation. There would be transparency instead of secrecy.

An Adorable Deplorable Speaks
- By Frank Hall - Greenville, SC
In 1936 my friend Howard had an opportunity to acquire a newspaper route. The “Great Depression” was nearing an end, but jobs were still very scarce, so Howard jumped at the chance without considering possible undesirable consequences. During the summer months Howard’s family liked to go on fishing trips at least once every week. Now Howard couldn’t go with them as he had to deliver his papers. Like a good friend should, I learned Howard’s route and substituted for him on family trip days so he could go, too.

The Hypocrisy of Border/Children/Family Separation
- By John H. Utz - Greenville, SC
The "marching-in-the-streets" and rallies over the (so-called) separation of children from their parents, glorified by the MSM, is raw ‘democracy’ in action.
The truth of the issue is that there is hypocrisy at every turn. For instance,
1) Where was the anger over the last 5-10-15 years, particularly in the Obama years, where President Obama ignored existing law and encouraged illegal (family and youth) immigration, with resulting "separations?"

The Koran Disputes the New Testament Jesus Christ
- By Jim S. Brooks
The Book of Matthew, now in our New Testament, was circulated among the early Christian assemblies as a source of authority for well over two hundred (200) years after the resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ, as one among many contemporary sources about Jesus Christ. It is a record of events in the earthly ministry of Jesus by an apostle that fellowshipped constantly with Jesus and the other apostles for at least three (3) years; was a witness to His resurrection and ascension; and, in about 336 A.D. the book was included in the Church Canon of our present Christian Scriptures. It was an authority for the Christian assemblies for near six (6) hundred years before Mohamed was born; near six (6) hundred years before Mohamed wrote the Koran; and, near six (6) hundred years before any one ever heard of Mohamed’s brand new “god”-Allah! The article is mainly quotes from Jesus and apostles in the New Testament; and, quotes from the Koran on the same subject. Each speaks for itself!

Trump's Nominee Will Be Another 'Kennedy'!
- By John Utz - Greenville, SC
Yeah, I know, President Trump has that list of 25 'real conservative' judges to select from, but who do you think put said list together?
The "Deep State" is everywhere, and there is no way they are not in control of any list of judges for (any) President to select!
Let's go back to retiring Judge Anthony Kennedy. President Reagan appointed the excellently qualified Robert Bork; as a true 'originalist' he had to be denied, and in a very ugly fashion. Who was the replacement?

Seventeen Inches
- By Frank Hall
"17 INCHES" – A great read
Twenty years ago, in Nashville , Tennessee , during the first week of January, 1996, more than 4,000 baseball coaches descended upon the Opryland Hotel for the 52nd annual ABCA's convention.
While I waited in line to register with the hotel staff, I heard other more veteran coaches rumbling about the lineup of speakers scheduled to present during the weekend. One name, in particular, kept resurfacing, always with the same sentiment — “John Scolinos is here? Oh, man, worth every penny of my airfare.”
Who is John Scolinos, I wondered. No matter; I was just happy to be there.
