Mrs. Nardia Lloyd’s Washington Center class enjoys going out into the community on Community Based Instruction trips. These trips allow students to practice skills learned in the classroom and apply them in the real world setting. Students enjoy using picture symbols to make food selections at restaurants, pay for purchases made at local stores and to practice turn taking skills while participating in leisure activities.  Students also enjoy meeting members of the community and communicate using their assistive technology devices, sign language or their own voice.
