Recently the Stephen Dill Lee Institute held its annual conference at the DeSoto Hilton Hotel in historic Savannah, GA. The topic this year was The Costs of Lincoln’s War. The Institute is an educational tool for the Sons of Confederate Veterans. Scholarships for teachers and students are available.
Keynote speakers were: Lt. Col. Jonathan White, Dr. Donald Livingston, Mr. Ron Kennedy, Mr. Don Kennedy, Mr. Mike Scruggs, and Dr. David Aiken. Each speaker discussed a specific aspect regarding the tremendous cost of the War Between the States. Mike Scruggs, a weekly contributor to The Times Examiner, was one of the speakers. Mike is probably known to most readers of The Times Examiner as the author of The Uncivil War.
