Rejects Destructive Strategies of “Sustainable Development”

The Republican National Committee unanimously passed a resolution exposing the dangers of UN Agenda 21 and the destructive sustainable development strategies. The Resolution was passed during the January 13, 2012, meeting of the RNC.

The RNC Resolution exposes the dangerous intent of UN Agenda 21 and resolves that “the U. S. Government and no state or local government is legally bound by the United Nations Agenda 21 treaty in that it has never been endorsed by the U. S. Senate.”

Furthermore, it was resolved by the RNC that the Resolution would be delivered to each Republican member of Congress, all Republican candidates for Congress, all Republican candidates for President who qualify for RNC sanctioned debates, and to each state and territory party office and recommend it for adoption into the Republican Party Platform at the 2012 Convention.

The Times Examiner and Greenville County Taxpayers Association President Butch Taylor have been warning citizens and elected officials at the national, state and county level of the dangers of Agenda 21 for several years. Despite those repeated warnings, the South Carolina Legislature has continued to fund and mandate the UN Agenda 21 edicts passed down by Congress and federal agencies.

Tom DeWeese, president of the American Policy Center, has led the effort to warn Americans of the dangerous threat from Agenda 21 to our constitutional rights and freedom, as well as the deceptive and dishonest methods used to trick people into supporting their schemes. He deserves much credit for urging the RNC to pass this Resolution.

Locally, Greenville County has allowed environmental activists to dominate their planning process and lace Greenville County Land Use and other plans with United Nations Agenda 21 sustainable development schemes and other requirements counter to private property rights guaranteed by the US Constitution.

The Resolution states that,  “This United Nations Agenda 21 is being covertly pushed into local communities throughout the United States of America through the International Council of Local Environmental Initiatives (ICLEI) through local ‘sustainable development” policies such as Smart Growth, Wildlands Projects, Resilient Cities, Regional Visioning Projects, and other ‘Green’ or ‘Alternative’ projects.”

Locally, the city of Greenville is a dues paying member of ICLEI and is leading the county and region in implementing United Nations policies of sustainable development. Sustainable development “views the American way of life of private property ownership, single family homes, private car ownership, individual travel choices, privately owned farms, all as destructive to the environment.”

Specifically, Agenda 21 if implemented fully would have government and selected radical Non-Government Agencies (NGO’s) control every aspect of human life.

RINO Hunt, a grass roots organization that is growing in numbers and influence, is identifying elected officials who have been supportive of UN Agenda 21 and Sustainable Development, exposing their voting record to their constituents and targeting them for replacement.
