Rep. Trey Gowdy: “HHS Will Control Your Life”
Fourth District Congressman Trey Gowdy spoke his mind during a politics and policy session at Dickey’s Barbecue Pit in Greer,
Friday night. Some of his strongest words pertained to Obamacare, excessive regulations and judges making law from the bench.
“HHS will control your life” if this health care law is not struck down, said Gowdy, who was guest of Christian Talk Show Host Josh Kimbrell and Dickey’s Barbecue Pit of Greer.
Gowdy was also critical of the numerous regulations issued by the Obama Administration. “They are a trial lawyer’s dream,” he said. Congressman “Gowdy was privileged to have an opportunity to be in the court room when the Supreme Court was hearing arguments on Obamacare.
The first term Congressman is hopeful that the court will strike down part or all of Obamacare, but not attempt to rebuild a health care program that suits the court. “Even if we like what the court does, we must oppose the court acting like a super legislature,” he concluded.
Kimbrell and Dr. Tony Beam carried on a political dialogue before Gowdy joined the conversation. At one point the conversation centered on the role of morality in government. Rep. Gowdy said “Everything we do in Washington has a moral component.”
If we lose the battle for the votes of women it is our fault, according to Gowdy.
We must support Israel without equivocation, period, he concluded.
