What Are We Earning?
- By W.H. Lamb
- Category: W.H. Lamb
Before we begin our foray into this topic, let’s examine how Webster’s Dictionary defines “earn”:
- To receive as return for effort and especially for work done or services rendered; to bring in by way of return;
- To come to be duly worthy of or entitled or suited to—i.e. ‘she earned a promotion’;
- To make worthy of or obtain for—i.e. ‘the suggestion earned him a promotion.
Seems pretty cut and dried, doesn’t it? But what does it really take to “earn” something? Obviously it takes an expenditure of time and/or effort. Often an outlay of money is involved, as in investing in more education in order to “earn” a higher income in future years. According to the dictionary definitions above, there are also non-monetary ways of “earning” something, such as earning another person’s trust. This type of “earning” requires a degree of character that is sometimes more difficult to attain, and can be more challenging to accomplish.

About Wild Hogs and Frogs – Remembering The Late, Great Thomas Jefferson Anderson
- By W.H. Lamb
- Category: W.H. Lamb
Ah yes, I remember him well! Tom Anderson, that is. Who, you may ask, was Thomas Jefferson Anderson (1910-2002)? I thought you’d never ask. Around fifty-two years ago I attended a meeting in Lancaster, S.C. The speaker, Tom Anderson, was a man who had the reputation of being a “straight talker”. That reputation was well earned over his long life of 91 years, and from his birth in Nashville, Tennessee in 1910, including years of serving God and Country, he always strove to honor the spirit of our nation’s Founders. That long-ago talk of his I attended included two of his favorite stories and, although he was not their author, he used both of these stories constantly to hammer home his points that Americans were swiftly losing their freedoms because we were being “conned” into accepting “free stuff” that was leading to the loss of our Constitutional liberties. Let me recount both of those stories for you.

Their Road To Redemption Began At Pearl Harbor – Part 2
- By W.H. Lamb
- Category: W.H. Lamb
Last time, we looked at the first of several of God’s Providential Miracles performed in this amazing WW11 tale, starring a young woman named Peggy Covell, and her “heart change” involving total forgiveness for people who had killed her missionary parents in the Philippines in 1943. She was the first link in this miraculous chain of God’s “events”, which changed not only her life, but also the lives of two other principles she inadvertently interacted with. Inadvertently, perhaps, in her mindbut NOT in God's plan."

Their Road To Redemption Began At Pearl Harbor – Part 1
- By W.H. Lamb
- Category: W.H. Lamb
“And Jesus said, ‘Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do….” (Luke 23:34). These words, uttered by our blessed Savior as He suffered on that terrible cross for us, have changed countless lives over centuries of time, and without doubt are doing so this very moment, and will far into the future. ‘Forgiveness’, as difficult as it may sometimes be to extend to another, is perhaps one of the most powerful commands that our Savior taught us, and surely is one of the most emotional reactions that separates mankind from the other life forms on Earth. As we will discover, forgiveness is what unites people, and ultimately nations, that had pledged to never forgive each other.

... The U.S. Must Protect Its Citizens From Disease While Starting the Urgent Work of Planning for a New Epoch"
That quote from the Wall Street Journal on April 3, 2020 in the title of this article is by one of the senior, and one of the most dedicated, members of the treacherous and treasonous Council On Foreign Relations, Henry Kissinger, one of that anti-American sovereignty organization’s long-time apologists, and one of the most powerful “deep staters” alive today. That WSJ article reminded readers that although the Covid-19 virus is borderless, in his view it continued and strengthened international cooperation along several fronts, all of which subtly lead to one of Dr. Kissinger’s long-time goals—world government—a vision that he has followed his entire life.

Haym Salomon – The Jewish Man Who Helped Finance The American Revolution
- By W.H. Lamb
- Category: W.H. Lamb
We were walking near Independence Square in Philadelphia, only a couple of blocks from Independence Hall, during one of our visits to that historic city almost 20 years ago, when my wife and I noticed a sign near a long-established Jewish synagogue. It was a historical marker telling about a man named Haym Salomon (1740-1785), of whom we knew nothing at all. (A picture of that marker is shown below.) Why, we asked ourselves, had we never heard of this man who we were informed was a “Financier of the (American) Revolution”? We didn’t recall ever having been taught in our American History courses (in the “dark ages” when actual history was presented) about a Jewish émigré to Colonial America who was one of the major sources of funds to support our patriot cause. Shame on us for being so uninformed. Shame on historians for neglecting this great virtually unknown patriot.

The Curse Of “Abandonment Theology”
- By W.H. Lamb
- Category: W.H. Lamb
In a previous article, we discussed some of the obvious reasons why our beloved America is slowly disintegrating into purposely induced chaos and tribalism, and I placed the blame for this descent into possible national oblivion squarely on the heads of Christian pastors/priests/ministers and the congregations they claim to lead (INCLUDING Christians who don’t “go to church”). I’ve never suggested, nor will I ever, that Christian people are retreating from the battle against evil and tyranny because they don’t love America, despite all its faults and its heritage of freedom. Of course they—we all—say we do. But unless Christian Patriots and patriots in general study God’s Word, and read publications like The Times Examiner, The New American, WorldNetDaily, Breitbart News, One America News, and many other pro-American and pro-Christian journals of truth (for example, Understanding The Threat, Conservative Business Journal, Judicial Watch), and abandon the devious and lying “main stream media”--including ALL of the “alphabet” TV channels, most cable news channels, virtually all print newspapers and well-known magazines, and ESPECIALLY the subversive, anti-American, anti-free speech “social media” like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc., they are totally unaware, for the most part, of the battle and have no knowledge of the forces that are attacking our liberties, our security, our prosperity, and indeed, our lives, because those who are supposed to be “watchmen on the wall”—our pastors, ministers, priests, deacons, and elders—prefer to hide in ignorance and refuse to become involved in “political issues”, even as our faith, our nation, our future, and that of generations still to come, hang in the balance. I often ponder whether or not our Heavenly Father thinks that these are “political” issues. But I’ll not attempt to speak for Him.

Is America Being Abandoned By Those Who Should Love And Protect Her?
- By W.H. Lamb
- Category: W.H. Lamb
“The highest glory of the American Revolution was this: It connected in one indissoluble bond the principles of civil government with the principles of Christianity.”
So said the 6th President of the U.S., John Quincy Adams, on July 4, 1821. I’ve read that quote often in the past, and I’ve always believed it to be both insightful and truthful. I’ve long assumed that most Americans of the “experienced” variety (i.e. those who are as ‘old as rocks’, like me) always endorsed the truthfulness of Adams’ statement. I’m not quite as confidant that our younger fellow citizens subscribe to that sentiment, or have even heard of President John Quincy Adams, and lately I’m increasingly concerned that Americans of all ages no longer value the wisdom of our “elders” and our Founders. Let me share some of my concerns with you.

“These Are The Times That Try Men’s Souls” (And Their Courage, Their Patience and Their Resolve)
- By W.H. Lamb
- Category: W.H. Lamb
“If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all His commands I will give you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of Earth. All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the Lord your God.”
Deuteronomy 28:1-2 NIV (Deuteronomy was George Washington’s favorite Book of the Bible).
“These are the times that try men’s souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like Hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives every thing its value. Heaven knows how to put a proper price upon its goods; and it would be strange indeed if so celestial an article as FREEDOM should not be highly rated….

The Line in the Sand for Americans and Christians
- By W.H. Lamb
- Category: W.H. Lamb
We all know the facts and/or the legend of “The Siege of the Alamo” in San Antonio, Texas in late February and early March of 1836. A pitifully small number of Texans (or “Texians”) and American volunteers (about 180 men) determined to defend a small mission church called the “Alamo” that they had previously captured from its small Mexican garrison, fortified it, and eventually resisted a vastly superior enemy force—the Mexican Army under General Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna (1794-1876) for “13 days of glory”. The Commander of the Alamo’s defenders, young Lt. Colonel William Travis, age 26, realizing that his situation by early March, 1836 was virtually hopeless, vowed to defend the Alamo to the end. Gathering the remaining defenders on March 5, 1836, Travis, according to the “Legend of the Alamo”, gave a short talk to his ragged and battle-weary men.

My Country—‘Tis Of Thee We Used To Sing
- By W.H. Lamb
- Category: W.H. Lamb
Back in 1988, during one of our trips to Boston, my wife and I found ourselves wandering around the ancient Old Granary Burial Ground. That historic 1660 cemetery is right next to the almost as historic Park Street Church, which was built in 1809. Being July 4, the church was open to those walking The Freedom Trail, so we went into the beautiful sanctuary. During our visit, a guide informed us that it was there at Park Street Church, back in 1831, that the beautiful patriotic hymn, America, better known as, My Country, ‘Tis of Thee, was first sung. The inspiring lyrics were written by Samuel Francis Smith (1808-1895), who was at the time a student at the Andover Theological Seminary in Andover, Massachusetts.

Victory At Sea – A Tribute To A Not Forgotten Hero
- By W.H. Lamb
- Category: W.H. Lamb
What kind of courage does it take to climb into an aircraft during wartime, knowing that as you take your cramped battle station within, it may be the final time you do so? I can only imagine the thoughts that must race through the minds of our military warriors who find themselves in that precarious position, be it on land, on the sea, or in the air, as they prepare to put themselves in harm’s way to battle an enemy who is determined to kill them. Only God knows how many people generally throughout world history, and how many Americans specifically, have faced that life or death question as they resolutely determined to face the enemies of freedom, tamping down their fear as they pondered whether or not they’d ever return home.

Peaceful Protests, Not Destructive Rioting and Killing!
- By W.H. Lamb
- Category: W.H. Lamb
WHAT DOES PEACEFULLY ASSEMBLING MEAN?
Apparently there are those among our U.S. population who have misconceptions about what our venerable and ceaselessly attacked U.S. Constitution says about the proper method of “protesting”, or “peacefully assembling” in order to deliver a focused message from a large number of citizens to our elected government representatives. Considering the degree of IGNORANCE exhibited by most of the American people today regarding what our increasingly ignored 1787 Constitution mandates, plus what our 1791 “Bill of Rights” specifies strongly in Amendment No. 1, it is not surprising that the enemies of our liberties have such an easy time convincing large segments of the populace that “violent protesting”, “looting” and “attacking and/or murdering” those with whom one disagrees politically are as “American as apple pie”. If that’s what you believe, YOU ARE WRONG—VERY, VERY WRONG!

God’s Soldier – Alvin York’s Journey from Sinner to Saint

One of my favorite subjects to write about in this august journal of truth has always been the lives of extraordinary people, especially when they are Christians, and most particularly when they have turned from a Devil’s Disciple to one of God’s Children – from sinner to saint. Those are the people I love to write about, to share with my readers their beliefs, their values, their strengths and weaknesses, their deeds, their fears, and their valor that we of the present might emulate to some degree.

Oh, America, We Hear You Calling
- By W.H. Lamb
- Category: W.H. Lamb
“O, America you’re calling, I can hear you calling me: You are calling me to be true to thee—true to thee I will be.
O, America you’re weeping, Let me heal your wounded heart. I will keep you in my keeping, ‘til there be a new start.
And I will answer you, and I will take your hand, And lead you to the sun; And I will stand by you, do all that I can do, And we will be as one.
O, America I hear you, From your prairies to the sea; From your mountains grand, and all through this land, You are beautiful to me.
And, O, America you’re calling. I can hear you calling me; You are calling me to be true to thee, true to thee I will be.
And I will answer you, and I will take your hand, And lead you to the sun; And I will stand by you, do all that I can do, And we will be as one.
O, America you’re calling…… I will ever answer thee.”
This beautiful song, with words by Brendan Graham and glorious music by William Joseph, was written in 2008 exclusively for that absolutely wonderful Irish singing group called Celtic Woman as they prepared the music for their fourth fabulous DVD at Powerscourt House and Gardens in Ireland in 2009, in advance of their 2010 tour of the U.S.

A native of Cleveland, Ohio, W. H. (Bill) Lamb is a graduate of Cleveland State University (Ohio); being graduated in 1960, he moved to South Carolina in 1964. For many years he was an Industrial engineer, Chief Industrial engineer, and plant manager in the steel, electronics, and apparel industries in Ohio, South Carolina, and Alabama. In his younger days, he was an avid hiker in the Southern mountains, a target shooter, and is still an avid student of both American history and ancient Egyptian history.
He is an avid and long-time writer, concentrating on political and cultural issues of concern to America's Christian Patriot community. He was published in the Lancaster, S.C. "News" during the mid-to-late 1960's, and has been a Local Columnist published in the Greenville, SC The Times Examiner since 1999. The late and great Christian Patriot, Col. Bobby Dill, was his first Editor. During those years he has had several hundred articles published in The Times Examiner, which he always refers to as "a great journal of truth"!
He has had one book published, a 120-page novel set in our future, titled "The History of Our Future", and two unpublished 750-page sequels "Waiting in the Wings" to be published "someday". Bill has been married to Barbara for 65 years, has two adult (and aging) kids, five grandkids, six great-grandkids, and a "feisty and opinionated" 80 lb. Pit Lab named Hayley, who admittedly runs the entire house.
A very long-time member, with Barbara, of The patriotic John Birch Society, he believes that it is the duty of ALL Christians to also be dedicated patriots and do everything possible to both resist the evil of collectivism that is smothering Western Civilization and to do his best to educate and motivate his fellow Americans in the preservation of our unique Constitutional Republic, and most importantly, to share the love of his Savior with others.
