The 43rd Annual Clyde Carr Charity Golf Tournament raised nearly $3,000 for the North Greenville Food Crisis Ministry on June 5 at the Rolling Green Golf Club. This year 60 players came out to enjoy the day of golf and fellowship. This tournament first began in 1967, under the direction of Mr. Clyde Carr. The North Greenville Food Crisis Ministry provides temporary assistance to residents of Northern Greenville County in personal and family crisis. Food, clothing and “Crisis Funds” for utilities, rent/mortgage and prescription medication are provided to eligible applicants. “Mr. Carr has been a faithful supporter of the Ministry for many years both financially and with his volunteer services. This generous contribution will help feed many hungry children and their families in our area,” said Mrs. Claudia Burns, Director of North Greenville Food Crisis Ministry. Clyde thanks all the players and sponsors who participated to make this event such a success. The annual golf tournament is always held on the first Saturday of June at Rolling Green Golf Club in Easley.
