"Individual rights will have to take a back seat to the collective"Parking and long lines have been a continuous problem at Greenville’s Washington Street Post Office during certain hours of the work day. The city government as a dues paying member of the International Council on Local Environmental Initiatives (ICLEI) has dutifully planted trees down the middle of the sidewalk servicing the busy Washington Street Post Office and Created traffic islands in the middle of the street and prepared for planting trees down the middle of Washington Street in front of the busy Post Office. The nature and attitudes of the people of Greenville are being manipulated according to a plan. A guide for public officials prepared by an organization called Freedom 21 explains that municipalities use the law to restructure human nature in order to implement Sustainable Development. “The authors of the Sustainable Development action plan recognize that their environmental and economic objectives, and the corresponding transformation of the American system of justice, are radically divergent from the views and objectives of the average person. Therefore, in order to achieve their objectives, they call for a shift in attitudes, which can be seen in the educational programs developed by its proponents. “This is the premise of Sustainable Development: That individual human wants, needs and desires are to be conformed to the views and dictates of planners. Harvey Ruvin, Vice Chair of the International Council on Local Environmental Initiatives (ICLEI), and Clerk of the Circuit and County Court of Miami-Dade County, Florida, has said that ‘Individual rights will have to take a back seat to the collective’ in the process of implementing Sustainable Development.”
