“Woke” is a shorthand expression that encompasses the radical ideas of the Democrat agenda: critical race theory, diversity-equity-inclusion, “trans” children, elective abortions up to the moment of birth, and the squelching of our speech and ideas.
Do not despair! Americans are not buying what the Democrat progressives are peddling. Americans want the cream to rise to the top and we celebrate true meritocracy. Their “diversity” is employment based on superficial characteristics, not merit. Their “equity” replaces opportunity with predetermined outcomes. Their “inclusion” eliminates rules and discipline. It is no accident that diversity-equity-inclusion is called DEI. DEI is the Latin word for God; those who promote DEI see themselves as godlike.
Lawmakers across the country are being beguiled into introducing and passing resolutions making application to Congress to call a convention for proposing amendments to the Constitution, also known as a federal constitutional convention (Con-Con), Article V Convention, or a “convention of states” as some erroneously call it.
Given the current widespread lack of knowledge about the Constitution and understanding of the principles of liberty that undergird it, convening such a convention today is likely to result in far greater harm than any purported benefits — placing our entire U.S. Constitution and republican form of government at jeopardy. Rather than pushing resolutions that apply to Congress for an Article V Convention, state legislators should consider nullification to rein in federal overreach. To safeguard the Constitution, urge your state legislators to oppose all Article V constitutional convention resolutions.
I write about the evils of Socialism so much, that I have been asked by many people around the country if I would write a definition of Socialism, its inherent evils, and the effects it would have upon us as individuals. The following is my attempt at answering that request. For certain, it would be a death blow to capitalism as well as to the God-given freedoms that we have enjoyed for so long in the United States.
Our country’s economic system is called capitalism. It is based upon private ownership of property, which includes the means of production for the creation of goods or services for income and profit by individuals. It is a free market economic system based on the recognition of individual rights to own property (lands, businesses, goods, etc.). Such rights give individuals security and a means to control their own affairs and, thus their own destiny. Under capitalism, private citizens, with their ownership of property, are responsible for producing and distributing goods.
Due to the recent popularity of The Times Examiner and its increase in readership (whether liked or disliked), it is time for an upgrade.
We are currently stripping down our Upstate, South Carolina Conservative news web portal so we can easily update our database and file system to a new upgraded system with new technologies. We also plan to update the design and layout to fit more modern digital mediums.
You may see hiccups while in the process and features removed to make the upgrade easier to maintain. Some of those features will come back when on the other side of the upgrade and update is complete.
Thank you for being so patient and hopefully this will be quick and easy.

“It’s an emotional moment,” Pastor Robin Lutjohann said quietly, surveying the rubble of his church. “It’s been a place of worship for a number of communities for over a century,” he told reporters after a six-alarm fire raged through the building Easter Sunday, destroying the Massachusetts landmark. “It fills me with sadness and dread about the work that is ahead of us,” Lutjohann admitted, wondering why anyone would have such malice toward Faith Lutheran. “If and when a person is found who has done this then we will pray for the power to forgive,” he insisted.
Unfortunately, his congregation isn’t alone in that prayer. An astonishing 436 churches in America were victims of criminal attacks in 2023, according to a new report from Family Research Council — more than double the number in 2022. From shattering stained glass and spray-painting relics to lighting five-gallon drums of gasoline on fire and riddling altars with bullet holes, houses of worship have become an increasingly dangerous target.
Chinese philosopher General Sun Tsu advised that good military and political leaders must know both the nature and capabilities of their potential enemies and also their own nature and capabilities. The two most common mistakes in war are underestimating your enemy and overestimating your own capabilities. The best victories are won without conflict.
On February 6, Tucker Carlson interviewed Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin within the walls of the Kremlin, the seat of Russian government power in Moscow. Moscow is a city of 13 million residents, the largest city in Europe. Its metropolitan population is over 21 million, also the largest in Europe. It has been the capital of Russia several times in Russian history, most recently since 1918. Tucker Carlson was surprised at how beautiful and clean Moscow has become in the last 20 years. The population of the Russian Federation is approximately 145 million. Geographically, it is the largest country in the world and according to WorldAtlas ranks fifth in natural resources, depending on how you rank the value of various strategic commodities and their diversity. The U.S. ranks seventh. Russia is not “a gas station masquerading as a country,” as John McCain once derisively asserted.
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- The National Religious Broadcasters (NRB) presented Coral Ridge Ministries (CRM) with the prestigious “Milestone Award” during the 2024 NRB International Christian Media Convention Feb. 20-23 in Nashville, Tennessee.
NRB acknowledges that longevity in any field is a rarity and exemplary service in Christian Broadcasting for more than 50 years is a feat worthy of recognition and applause. For this reason, the “Milestone Award” is reserved specifically for organizations with more than five decades in Christian Broadcasting.
The Biden administration is trying to be a “backseat driver” by encroaching on our property and privacy rights. The Department of Transportation (DOT) has started the process of implementing a device mandate in all new cars that would spy on our driving and have the ability to disable the car. Mandating a kill switch in our vehicles would be the death of our automobile autonomy.

A “PROPHETIC” TALE OF PERSECUTION, RESISTANCE, AND COURAGE IN FAR FUTURE TIME.
Imagine, if you will, a small group of archaeologists working in and under an ancient building high over the banks of the Tomak River, close to a small city named Andria, in the country known as The United Republics of the East (U.R.E). It is a building that has survived the ravages of time and the hatred of malevolent forces over most of its existence. Perhaps sometime in the mid-part of the 28th century these archaeologists make a historical find underneath that newly renovated and restored ancient building on the banks of that river, a building that was around 900 years old at that time and that had been used as a church by the Sectof Jesus Followers for a century or more, during a time of severe persecution of Christians. Imagine, then, that in a sealed metal box buried under that church over 300 yearspreviously, they discover a personal journal written by an Elder of that Church. So here is his and his Christian brethren’s story of fear and faithfulness, of peace and violence, of resistance and defeats, of loves for each other and of their Savior, as written down sometime in the early 25th century—near the end of the “Dark Time”--far, far into our own future, which we who live today in the year 2024 will bring about by what we do, or DON’T do!
MURRIETA, Calif. -- Today, a California Court ruled in favor of the Temecula Valley Unified School District, affirming the district's parental notification policy and a resolution prohibiting the teaching of critical race theory (CRT). Last year, a lawsuit was filed against the school district by a group of political activists and the Temecula Valley Educators Association, challenging a resolution that restricts false and divisive CRT curriculum and requires teachers to inform parents of their students' gender transition.
Universities are not alone among our institutions that have lost their way. How about America's corporations, which now seem to think social justice is their job, beside efficiently delivering goods and services to the American public?
In a recent panel discussion at the Bipartisan Policy Institute, Jamie Dimon, chairman and CEO of JPMorgan, the nation's largest bank, rang the alarm about the nation's debt.
He noted what is already widely known -- that federal debt now equals 100% of GDP, on its way to 130% of GDP by 2035.

There are times when even world powers need to step back from long held policies that have been the hallmark of what they consider to be protecting their interests.
Countries do this, not because of cowardice or to save money allocations, but for very pragmatic reasons: to prevent wide-spread conflagrations that may endanger, not only them, but many other countries and people.
Such may very well be the issue at hand for the US vis-à-vis its Mid-East policy. While Israel has been a long-standing ally for many years—and it has been American policy to fund and support it—it is now involved in a conflict that that has seen thousands killed, including now US service people.
For three years now, Democrats have held the majority in the U.S. Senate under Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY). He has used every tool possible to push the radical Biden Administration policies – open borders, abortion on demand with taxpayer funding, and gender madness in our schools, hospitals, and military. He has prevented conservative House-passed legislation from being considered, held up the spending bills, and prevented Republicans from being able to offer amendments to legislation that is brought up for a vote.
Across the country, state legislatures are considering resolutions to apply for a disastrous Article V constitutional convention (Con-Con), incorrectly referred to by some as a “convention of states.” The push to change the U.S. Constitution — which could result in an entirely new “modern” (i.e., socialist) constitution — is one of the most serious threats to the Constitution that we face.
To help better equip you and others with the truth — including the many pitfalls of an Article V convention — we have launched a new series of short Con-Con videos, titled our “Article V Academy.”
We hear a lot about how the education system is deteriorating. However, the truth is that this broken system was actually by design. The founders of the modern education system were communists who sought to indoctrinate our children with collectivist ideas. Joshua Philipp, the host of The EPOCH Times' hit show, Crossroads, speaks to Alex Newman, an award-winning international journalist and author of “Indoctrinating Our Children to Death,” about the real agenda behind the education system.
In the well-intentioned rush to support American families by expanding the Child Tax Credit (CTC), critical questions are often ignored: Aren't we already doing enough, and is this the best way to help? It's imperative to step back and examine the assumptions at the heart of this ongoing debate.
The child tax credit was first introduced in the 1997 Taxpayer Relief Act as a way to lower the tax burden for working families, with a $500 per child credit. It was increased a few times, including during the Bush years and in 2017 during the latest Republican tax reform. The justification has morphed into whatever its advocates happen to think it should be: It's an anti-poverty program -- hence its refundability. It's a pro-family program -- hence its growing size. It's a fertility booster program -- hence both its size and refundability.

With prices surging faster than paychecks, American renters are left wondering: Where can they stretch their dollars the furthest? To answer this, we've compiled data from 189 cities to identify the sweet spots between income and expenses by weighing how much of their income went toward rent and basic expenses for utilities, food, healthcare and other essentials.
Greenville is the 21st-best city for renters looking to get the best bang for their buck. This is because renters here spend a smaller portion of their incomes on all analyzed expenses compared to most U.S. cities. Plus, Greenville’s income-to-rent ratio is one of the most favorable in the country.
This article is related to the previous one. However, there are those addressing the idea of intelligent life from another planet; however, this article addresses unintelligent life. Unlike the concept of intelligent life on other planets, unintelligent life in no way raises any questions concerning any biblical doctrines. However, if it is ever discovered it needs to be seen from day one from a biblical perspective because it would used to attack the Bible.
Greer, SC – U.S. Term Limits (USTL), the leader in the national, non-partisan movement to limit terms for elected officials, is gathering support from state lawmakers across the nation. Its mission is to get 34 states to apply for an amendment proposal convention specific to term limits on Congress. South Carolina state house candidate, Adam Crisp (District 36), has committed support for term limits on Congress by signing the term limits convention pledge. Crisp is the first signer in this race.
USTL President, Philip Blumel, commented on Crisp's pledge saying, “Adam's strong support of term limits shows that there are individuals who are willing to listen to the majority of voters who want term limits. America needs a Congress that will be served by citizen legislators, not career politicians.”
Is the U.S. bankrolling our own border invasion? That’s what an explosive new report from The Epoch Times suggests. While Americans struggle to pay for shelter, medical care, food, and schooling for the migrants who’ve been bussed to major cities, we may also be footing the bill for their journey here. “We’re actually funding our own border crisis,” the Center for Immigration Studies’ Todd Bensman warned. And most taxpayers have no clue.
While the Biden administration has been all too willing to throw open the gates to illegal crossers, their biggest contribution to the crisis is through the U.N., where this president has been funneling hundreds of millions of dollars to agencies sabotaging our border. The International Office for Migration (IOM), for instance, which is part of the U.N., had been raking in about a half-billion dollars before 2021. Now, alarmed experts say, that funding “has skyrocketed” to an eye-popping $1.3 billion in 2023 — double what it was under Donald Trump.

Washington D.C. – U.S. Term Limits (USTL), the leader in the non-partisan national movement to limit terms for elected officials, praises 2024 U.S. House candidate for South Carolina, Adam Morgan (District 4), for signing the pledge for an amendment to term limit Congress. Previously, candidate William Timmons also signed the pledge.
U.S. Term Limits has the support of more than 130 pledge signers in Congress. USTL President Philip Blumel commented on Morgan's and Timmons's pledges saying, “Adam's and William's strong support of term limits shows that there are individuals who are willing to put self-interest aside to follow the will of the people. America needs a Congress that will be served by citizen legislators, not career politicians.”
Depending on where you live, property taxes can be a small inconvenience or a major burden. The average American household spends $2,869 on property taxes for their homes each year, according to the U.S. Census Bureau, and residents of the 26 states with vehicle property taxes shell out another $448.
Property taxes might appear to be a non-issue for the 35% of people who rent their homes, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. We all pay property taxes, whether directly or indirectly, as they impact the rent we pay as well as the finances of state and local governments.
