INDEPENDENT CONSERVATIVE VOICE OF UPSTATE SOUTH CAROLINA

INDEPENDENT CONSERVATIVE VOICE OF
UPSTATE SOUTH CAROLINA

Many years ago, the famous Russian author, the late Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn said, in one of his speeches:  “More than half a century ago, while I was still a child, I recall hearing a number of older people offer the following explanation for the great disasters that have befallen Russia:  They said ‘men have forgotten God’…”

Solzhenitsyn’s understanding of the underlying cause of most of the problems of the 20th century (and up to this very moment) is accurate, because without any doubt, much of mankind (whether  it’s the ‘majority’ or not, I can’t say with certainty) seem to either have forgotten our Heavenly Father, the Creator of everything (including us) or at least seem to be well down the road to putting Him out of their lives.  We are well into the first quarter of the 21st century, and the disturbing facts are that many in the so-called “Christian Church” seem to have forgotten Him as well, or at the very least have declared to God that we, his created ones, no longer are disposed to read and study His “instruction manual for successful living and eternal life”, otherwise known as God’s Word, our Bible!

Far too many Americans generally, and Christians specifically, in our troubled land don’t appear to know or even care that secular humanism, multi-culturalism, and atheism are engaged in attacking and undermining our Christian and Western heritage.  Back in 2001, a man I’ve always admired, Pat Buchanan, wrote a book titled: The Death of the West.  In it he accurately described what is happening to us with these chilling words:

“In half a lifetime, many Americans have seen their God
dethroned, their heroes defiled, their culture polluted, their

values assaulted, their country invaded, and themselves

demonized as extremists and bigots for holding on to beliefs

Americans have held for generations.”

The disgusting leftwing progressive denizens of “the swamp” mercilessly attacked Buchanan’s great book back in that time, but those Americans with functioning brains were shocked by the seriousness of his warnings regarding the probable fate of the “Western world.”  It’s obvious from Buchanan’s thoughts, and from direct observation by unbiased Americans, that we in the  present seem to value life very cheaply.  If we didn’t, we would not have suffered the plague—the  total  HOLOCAUST—of that sin of the MURDER of the innocent unborn lives among us—a sin referred coldly to as “legal abortions”, and a sin that Americans have tolerated, supported, and that some have opposed strongly, since it became “law” in 1973.

At least those of us who are totally opposed to this murder of the innocent unborn had a “minor victory” back in 2003, when Congress passed into law the “Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act” (which was upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court in 2007).  As I have often written, and will continue to do so, ALL abortion is MURDER, but “PBA” was the most abhorrent version, for during this gruesome EXECUTION, a LIVE baby, “partially” out of the mother’s birth canal  except for his head, feels the sharp edge of a steel instrument piercing his skull.  His silent screams will never be heard as his life and brains are sucked out of him.  My fellow Christians and human beings, if this is not wrong, then nothing is wrong.  Supposedly this ghastly method of murdering a helpless baby is now banned, but who really knows if has been totally stopped or not?

We who oppose all abortion have constantly faced powerful forces who are determined to protect “a woman’s right to choose” to carry or murder her unborn child.  These unrighteous and confused people, of course, never concern themselves about the unborn baby’s “right to choose life.”  The sanctioning of the termination of an unborn human is deemed giving a pseudo-mother the “right to do with her body as she chooses,” while piously ignoring the biological FACT that an unborn human child has its OWN body and is NOT a part of the woman’s body, which is being used only as an “incubator” and a “feeding station” for nine months.

Pro-abortion organizations such as the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), the National Organization for Women (NOW), the National Abortion Rights Action League (NARAL), and many “medical” groups that profit from this practice of baby murder (as exposed on national TV by brave investigative reporters), and who profit by selling parts of aborted children in the name of “scientific research,” will continue to support this “abortion lobby” with massive amounts of money and the pressures applied by highly paid lobbyists.  All Americans with any sense of decency, and surely all Christians, must be opposed to this evil, for there is no valid reason for murdering an unborn human child, and surely not for the “convenience” of a pseudo-mother or for the profits of the abortion lobby (including the disgusting organization known as “Planned Parenthood,” the nation’s largest provider of baby murders).

Many years ago, I saw the story of Gianna Jessen, a young woman who survived a saline abortion back in 1977.  Of that horrible experience she wrote: “When I look at my birth record and see that it says, ‘born during a saline abortion’, one emotion fills my heart, and that is just thankfulness to a living God that He spared my life, and He didn’t have to.” Then there was the story of a young teen named Susan, who became pregnant at age 16.  She was pressured to abort her child, but she refused to do so.  While her decision cost her a chance to study in Europe, her son grew up to become a missionary who has touched thousands of teenagers around the world.  “I didn’t make it to the Peace Corps, and I didn’t make it abroad to paint beautiful pictures,” said Susan, “but God took my son abroad to paint beautiful lives.”

It’s sad to admit, but this great evil called “abortion” seems to be woven into the very fabric of American society and political thought.  Now it appears to be strictly a political issue, because so many Americans have abandoned the stand that abortion is a moral issue.  Just watch the Senate hearings for the latest Supreme Court nominee, and you’ll learn very quickly that the constitutional issues of “privacy and choice” are what the Senatorial “inquisitors” really care about.  The life of the unborn, and their murder, seems to be of little or no concern to those Grand Poobahs of the U.S. Senate.  There’s always “talk” about passing laws to reverse the disgusting decision of Roe V. Wade—there’s always a “Bill Clinton” to assure us that Congress wants to make abortions “safe and rare.”  What a bunch of political horse manure his assurances were!

For the U.S. Congress—indeed our entire government—to abandon the moral “high ground” that the pro-life minority espouse is to admit before God and Country that Congress—and the American people—have abandoned that high ground of morality strictly for the sake of politics.  It’s like telling a meeting of Jewish folks that Congress (and most of the people who elect them) are “against” those despicable “Jewish death camps” used by the Nazi beasts, but also arguing for a political environment that is “friendly to Jewish life,” and insisting that there be “fewer” Jewish death camps so that less Jews would be sent thereto.  What a crock of rancid reasoning that would be.

Someone once said that abortion is the worst kind of oppression.  That’s true.  It is.  It makes VICTIMS of the most helpless among us—it steals away the precious gift that God has give to man—LIFE!  Sadly, those who counsel and practice the MURDER of the innocent unborn are truly deceiving those young women they claim to want to “help.”  So:  Who lives? That depends on the stand that you and I take. Who dies?  Roughly 60 million have already been murdered in this holocaust, and millions more will die if it is not ended.  Who cares?  GOD DOES!  And we Americans had better start caring also!

A native of Cleveland, Ohio, W. H. (Bill) Lamb is a graduate of Cleveland State University (Ohio); being graduated in 1960, he moved to South Carolina in 1964.  For many years he was an Industrial engineer, Chief Industrial engineer, and plant manager in the steel, electronics, and apparel industries in Ohio, South Carolina, and Alabama.  In his younger days, he was an avid hiker in the Southern mountains, a target shooter, and is still an avid student of both American history and ancient Egyptian history.

He is an avid and long-time writer, concentrating on political and cultural issues of concern to America's Christian Patriot community.  He was published in the Lancaster, S.C. "News" during the mid-to-late 1960's, and has been a Local Columnist published in the Greenville, SC The Times Examiner since 1999.  The late and great Christian Patriot, Col. Bobby Dill, was his first Editor. During those years he has had several hundred articles published in The Times Examiner, which he always refers to as "a great journal of truth"!

He has had one book published, a 120-page novel set in our future, titled "The History of Our Future", and two unpublished  750-page sequels "Waiting in the Wings" to be published "someday".  Bill has been married to Barbara for 65 years, has two adult  (and aging) kids,  five grandkids, six great-grandkids, and a "feisty and opinionated" 80 lb. Pit Lab named Hayley, who admittedly runs the entire house.

A very long-time member, with Barbara, of The patriotic John Birch Society, he believes that it is the duty of ALL Christians to also be dedicated patriots and do everything possible to both resist the evil of collectivism that is smothering Western Civilization and to do his best to educate and motivate his fellow Americans in the preservation of our unique Constitutional Republic, and most importantly, to share the love of his Savior with others.
