The Perverse Agenda of Black Lives Matter
- By Star Parker
Since the new wave of race consciousness that has been sweeping our country, precipitated by the graphic video of the killing of George Floyd by police officer Derek Chauvin, something very strange has happened.
Somehow, what is perceived as a problem has become widely understood to be the solution. And it is endangering our country.
If there remain citizens in America who, because of race or any other reason, are deprived of the benefits and protections of a free society, we should work to bring those benefits of freedom to them.
The answer is not to abandon the principles that make us a free country.

Bogus Claims From the Poor People's Campaign
- By Star Parker
The Poor People's Campaign has announced a "season of nonviolent, moral direct action," targeting the U.S. Senate with disruptive activities every Monday, July 12 through Aug 2.
According to the campaign's co-chair, the Rev. William Barber II, "The Senate must end the filibuster, protect and expand voting rights, and pass a minimum wage of $15 an hour."
Barber is getting national attention. Even President Joe Biden recorded a video expressing his support.

He Said He Would “Bury Us!”
- By Barbara Powell
When thinking about the activities of our present Marxist-dominated federal government that, along with its allies in the U.N. and big media are trying to turn the U.S. into a socialist, collectivist tyranny run by them, I’m reminded of what Nikita Khrushchev said over 60 years ago. Do you remember his threats—his prognostications?
“Your children’s children will live under communism. You Americans are so gullible. No, you won’t accept communism outright; but we will keep feeding you small doses of socialism until you will finally wake up and find you already have Communism. We will not have to fight you. We will so weaken your economy, until you will fall like overripe fruit into our hands. The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who will not.”

January 6 is a Stalking Horse for Government Power Grabs
- By Laura Hollis
As the nation limps out of the COVID-19 pandemic, many Americans assume that we are also leaving behind the serious -- and in some cases, shocking -- power grabs that government leaders insisted were necessary to "defeat the virus."
The headlines suggest otherwise. A number of trends have emerged, the confluence of which should concern all Americans who love this country and value their freedom.
First and foremost is the obsession with characterizing the Jan. 6 riot in the Capitol as an "insurrection." Like so much else the American public has been told in recent years, this is a "narrative" -- wrapped in secrecy and sold with a heaping helping of propaganda, hyperbole and flat-out lies -- which falls apart as the truth slowly leaks out. While unruly and disruptive, Jan. 6 was no attempt to overthrow the federal government. Hundreds of protesters were let into the Capitol building by the U.S. Capitol Police; no one was carrying a firearm of any sort. USCP Officer Brian Sicknick was not killed by chemical spray or a blow to the head from a fire extinguisher, but died of a stroke. In fact, the only person killed on January 6 was Ashli Babbitt, an unarmed protester shot by a USCP officer who will not stand trial and whose name has never been released to the public. Perhaps most disturbing, Revolver News has raised pointed and unanswered questions about the FBI's possible role in January 6.

School Choice Only Option in Divided Nation
- By Star Parker
The issue of critical race theory is raising a more fundamental question about our nation: education.
Education is about more than teaching children to read and write. It is about transmitting values, transmitting a worldview, that will define how our youth think and how they will live.
Per the Department of Education, in 2020, 56.4 million children were enrolled in K-12 education. Of these, 50.7 million were in public schools, and 5.7 million were in private schools.
So, government plays a substantial role in the education of our children.

Equality Act Slams the Door on Religious Freedom
- By Star Parker
The Supreme Court's recent decision, Fulton v. Philadelphia, is justifiably getting mixed reviews.
Catholic Social Services sued the city of Philadelphia, through the Philadelphia Archdiocese, for canceling its 50-year contract with the Catholic social services agency because it refuses to certify same-sex couples as foster families for the purpose of foster care.
The Supreme Court ruled in favor of CSS, finding that Philadelphia violated its First Amendment protections.

Cut Off the Checks -- America's Businesses Need Workers
- By Laura Hollis
Like a lot of other Americans, I have been shocked in recent weeks at the number of businesses that cannot find workers. My daughter and I stopped at a fast-food restaurant here in South Bend, Indiana, two weeks ago on our way home from Chicago. After waiting 40 minutes in the drive-thru line, the beleaguered employee at the window handed us our food and apologized profusely. "I'm so sorry. We are way understaffed," he explained. "I have to close the store." This was 5:30 on a Saturday evening. How much money did that particular store lose, having to close for lack of staff in the middle of the dinner hour on a weekend night?
