INDEPENDENT CONSERVATIVE VOICE OF UPSTATE SOUTH CAROLINA

INDEPENDENT CONSERVATIVE VOICE OF
UPSTATE SOUTH CAROLINA

The Bible and its account of origins is treated with utter contempt by cultural elites, those who look down their noses at the rubes and hayseeds (like me) who place great confidence in the Book.

Well, the elites better hope their peers don’t get their hands on the report about the latest in genetic science. The reason: genetic scientists are telling us now that there is powerful and virtually irrefutable scientific evidence that every human being on earth has descended from a single pair of parents. The Bible, of course, goes science one better, and even gives us the names of our original ancestors, “Adam” and “Eve.”

Note this headline from the Daily Mail, one of the UK’s largest circulation newspapers:

“All humans are descended from just TWO people...” (Emphasis theirs.) And it happened virtually yesterday in evolutionary time, somewhere around 100,000 years ago.

From the first line in the article (emphasis mine throughout): “All modern humans descended from a solitary pair.” From the second paragraph: “Scientists surveyed the genetic 'bar codes' of five million animals - including humans - from 100,000 different species and deduced that we sprang from a single pair of adults after a catastrophic event almost wiped out the human race.”

Now, to be sure, they are off on their timeline by about 94,000 years. They’ve got it right that there was a “catastrophic event that almost wiped out the human race,” which of course we know is actually a reference to the flood of Noah’s day, though they haven’t figured that part out yet. But give them time. They finally got around to Adam and Eve; they’ll eventually come around on the rest.

Now, these genetic scientists aren’t yahoos from East Pecan Community College. The report comes from “experts” at Rockefeller University and the University of Basel, Mark Stoeckle and David Thaler respectively.

Their findings are so contrary to current evolutionary thought that they found it almost impossible to believe. “This conclusion is very surprising,” said Thaler, “and I fought against it as hard as I could.”

Worse for those still stuck in the bankrupt theory of Darwinianism, the same thing is true of animals, just exactly as the Bible says. In a statement that completely, utterly, and seismically destroys evolution, the scientists conclude that “ninety percent of all animal species alive today come from parents that all began giving birth at roughly the same time, less than 250 thousand years ago.” Well, “at roughly the same time” would be during the six days of creation, as recorded in Genesis 1.

The Daily Mail adds, this “throw[s] into doubt the patterns of human evolution.” No kidding.

This is a shocking, stupendous, mind-blowing departure from the addled thinking of today’s evolutionists, who believe the path to today’s animals began in the ancient slime and somehow all life, through infinitesimal steps, started in the primordial ooze. Nope.

Today’s animal species come from a single pair of ancestors, just like people do. “The research deduced that humans and animals sprang from [a] single pair - as did animals.”

In a commentary published by Fox News, Dr. Michael Guillen calls this “an astonishing discovery:”

“All humans alive today are the offspring of a common father and mother – an Adam and Eve – who walked the planet 100,000 to 200,000 years ago, which by evolutionary standards is like yesterday. Moreover, the same is true of nine out of every 10 animal species, meaning that nearly all of Earth’s creatures living today sprang into being recently from some seminal, Big Bang-like event.”

Hmmm. A “seminal, Big Bang-like event.” Say, perhaps, the creation of everything as recorded in Genesis 1?

Guillen draws two other evolution-shattering conclusions. First, he says, Stoeckle and Thaler’s study “does line up with the Bible...It affirms that we and our fellow creatures on Earth arose from a recent and profound creation event, orchestrated by some unknown mechanism.” (God, maybe??) “Recent and profound creation event” - couldn’t have said it better myself.

Second, he adds, the DNA bar codes reveal that, ”Instead of there being a continuum of animal varieties, as one might expect from millions of years of gradual evolution, creatures fall into very distinct, widely separated populations,” exactly what the Bible says, when 11 times in Genesis 1, we are told that each created living thing reproduced “after its kind.”

It is impossible for there to be a conflict between good theology and good science. You can have a conflict between good theology and bad science, or bad theology and good science, but it is impossible to find a conflict between good theology and good science for the simple reason that God is the author of both.

Bottom line: once again, the best in science confirms the best in theology. Ladies and gentlemen, DO NOT DOUBT THE BOOK.
