How Do You Sleep At Night?

At the end of Matthew 28, Jesus gave His disciples the Great Commission. He said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Go therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
In John, Chapter 14, when our Lord was instructing His disciples as to what would soon come, He made another very bold — and very clear — statement: “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in Me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father. Whatever you ask in My name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it.” He then went on to explain how those who love Him will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Verse 17 says, of the Holy Spirit, “...whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him. You know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.”

I cant really say I was surprised. Rather, it was one of those, what will they think of next moments. This past week, the news came that Road Rage is not really anyones fault. Instead, like most of the character flaws we dont want to take the blame for, its now become a medical problem, something beyond our control.
As if we didnt have enough to worry about with all the new diseases that have sprung up over the past few years, now we have IED, or Intermittent Explosive Disorder, and it reportedly afflicts 16 million Americans, causing them to lose their temper, or explode intermittently. So now, those who choose to be rude, overly aggressive or abusive behind the wheel have a legitimate excuse. Its not my fault. I cant help my poor behavior. I have IED.
A Trip to the ‘Sin Store’

I had done this same thing a million times before - standing in line to pay at the gas station/convenience store. That’s where I was the other day, when God suddenly opened my eyes. It was an amazing revelation of reality, and it was interesting how I had never really noticed it before...
What am I talking about? Well, you see I was standing there, waiting my turn, and it was taking a while. Looking to my right, I noticed a display taking up an entire wall, floor-to-ceiling of hard liquor of every sort. At the end of this row was a big display of various types of cigars.
So, You Want To Know My Thoughts On Trump...

My message today may not be a popular one, but it’s time to address the elephant in the room, and I’ll attempt to do it in a fair and balanced way. I want to talk about Donald Trump. I realize I’m walking on thin ice here, because he’s one of — if not the — most polarizing figures in all of American political history. Critics have an unreasonable and largely unsubstantiated hatred for Trump, which has come to be known as “Trump Derangement Syndrome” or “TDS.” Meanwhile, many of his supporters believe he can do no wrong, and are willing to overlook anything he does that they don’t agree with, because after all, he’s “saved us” from the Communist Left.
