All of humanity was born to worship. We have an instinctive need to reverence our Creator. This is just how God made us. In the beginning, mankind had a close relationship with Him. But in Genesis Chapter 3, we read of how the king of demons, Satan, tempted Eve and caused her to doubt what God said. And the rest, as they say, is history. Adam followed Eve in her quest for forbidden knowledge and power, and together they traded perfect communion with God for a life of pain and toil, of blood, sweat and tears... of thorns and thistles, culminating in death and then the judgment.

This has been a sad and bittersweet year for us. So far this year, we’ve bid farewell to eight of our long-time ministry friends and supporters, as they’ve gone home to be with the Lord. We don’t get invited to weddings anymore, but there have been far too many funerals. Most have passed away at a ripe, old age. Some have been taken from us too soon.
I’m reminded that tomorrow isn’t promised to anyone, and even as many Christians are waiting, watching and praying for our Lord’s second coming and the “last days” on this earth, today is the “last day” for more than we can comprehend. On average, 174,000 people die every day. That’s 7,250 ever hour; 121 every minute. By the time you finish reading or listening to this message, more than 1500 souls will have passed into eternity. So, while a lot of Christians are observing the signs of the “last days,” today is the LAST day for many... and many are unprepared to stand before their Creator.

There’s no question that America has turned away from God. Yes, there are some true Christ followers left who sincerely love and seek the Lord with all their hearts, but their numbers are few, and Jesus said it would be this way.
Matthew 7: “Enter in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.”
What happened to our people, once grateful and devout followers of our Creator and Sustainer? Not only have they abandoned their reverence, awe and faith in Almighty God, but for most Americans, God has become totally irrelevant in their daily lives. Some even openly mock, despise and hate God and those who faithfully follow Him. They see Christianity as a “repressive religion,” though they really know nothing about the Bible, God the Father, or Jesus Christ, our Savior. Because no one has ever taught them.
