INDEPENDENT CONSERVATIVE VOICE OF
UPSTATE SOUTH CAROLINA

Drag Queen Story Hour at the Five Forks Public Library was an eye opener in more ways than one.

On one side of the police barriers you had men dressed up as women, men dressed up as Nuns with bizarre make up on and the LGBTQ community shouting “Love not Hate.”

On the other side of the barrier you had men dressed as men and women dressed as women shouting “Child Abuse.”

There is clearly a stark contrast. Depending on your ideology it wasn't hard to tell which side of the fence you should go stand when you arrived.

Then you had the parents in line to take their children in to hear a Drag Queen read to their child, some dressed as their biological gender, some not, some wearing shirts that identified them as gay and proud of it, and most children dressed as their own gender who were staring at all the protesters and supporters with confused looks on their faces.

As a former first grade teacher, I can only imagine what was going on in those children's minds. Why do people care about whether or not I go in to this story hour? Why are people praying? Why are my parents mad at the people praying? Why do my parents want me to be proud of a man who is dressed up like a woman?

There is clearly division in our country, and for a reason. Jesus said he came to divide.

Luke 12:49-56

“I have come to set the world on fire, and I wish it were already burning! I have a terrible baptism of suffering ahead of me, and I am under a heavy burden until it is accomplished. Do you think I have come to bring peace to the earth? No, I have come to divide people against each other! From now on families will be split apart, three in favor of me, and two against—or two in favor and three against.”

What I can't understand is why there weren't more Christians there to protest deviant behavior clearly against Bible teachings being celebrated and promoted. Where were you Christians? Were you neither hot or cold? There were over 10,000 people who signed a petition against this...but where were you? We needed you there.

There is hope though... there were many people of color, old and young who braved the weather and stood against deviant behavior being promoted to young children as something to be celebrated.
