A review of James Tyrus Seidule's Robert E. Lee and Me

Published on the Abbeville Institute Blog, January 5, 2024
More than anybody else, Seidule, vice chair of the naming commission, is responsible for the desecration of Arlington National Cemetery
EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE, I read a book that is so flawed, biased and outright wrong that I can hardly finish it. Such is the case with “Robert E. Lee and Me” by Tyrus Seidule. I have always sought to give those who disagree me a fair hearing. Occasionally I may even learn something. But in Mr. Seidule’s case, his book is nothing more than a vile anti-Southern rant.

Bob Jones University will hold its annual Bible Conference Feb. 13-16 in Founder’s Memorial Amphitorium. This year’s theme, “Look on the Fields: Cultivating a Heart for the Harvest,” is referenced throughout the Scriptures to remind Christians to develop a burden for evangelism.
“Evangelism—the natural result of loving God and others—flows out of a heart tuned to the Savior and His priorities,” said Dr. Alan Benson, BJU Acting CEO. “I invite local pastors and their congregations to attend and take advantage of this incredible opportunity to be fed from God’s Word and encouraged by wonderful fellowship.”

Eagle Forum Supports Four Pro-Life Bills
Eagle Forum applauds the introduction of four pro-life bills sponsored by Senator Mike Lee (R-UT). As our nation remains divided in the post-Roe era, we believe that most Americans can agree that the federal government should not be involved in funding or promoting abortion in any area of federal law. These bills seek to ensure that our tax dollars are not used to subsidize abortion by the U.S. Coast Guard, as well as via the tax code, healthcare system, and foreign aid programs.

DRIPPING SPRINGS, Texas -- On Friday, Jan. 26, 2024, the Nicaraguan government held a second hearing in its case against 11 Nicaraguan Mountain Gateway pastors and three U.S. citizen pastors. During the hearing, the pastors were not allowed to be physically present in the courtroom, they could only attend over a video livestream.
Prior to the hearing, the judge held all the pastors in prison to await a trial date. She did not allow the prisoners to have any visitors, nor their attorney to speak to them. The pastor's attorney again requested to have the charging documents presented in order to prepare a defense, but the request was again denied.

Most Americans would not approve of graphic sex advice being prominently featured on the homepage of a popular search engine. They would be more outraged if it were posted midday when after-school boys and girls could easily access it. But this is exactly what Yahoo did on January 30.
[Yahoo is mostly owned by Apollo Global Management, headquartered in Sunnyvale, California.]
The first post below the headline story on Yahoo read, "My Boyfriend Has a New Request for When I Go Down on Him. I Have Concerns." Below, in smaller print, it said, "I want to at least try."
Local Republican Leaders Seeking Advice from Democrats

Calling All Real Republicans
The purpose of the SC Republican Party, and all her county parties, is to uphold the Republican platform and elect candidates that will support it. Therefore one would expect the local Republican Party leadership to seek out strong Republicans who are fighting for the causes and values we hold dear, and invite them to speak to the body on occasion. But under the “leadership” of Mr. Davis and Ms. Julian this is not the case. Twice now Democrat solicitor, David Pascoe, has been invited under protest to speak to the Greenville County Republican Party during a Business Meeting. Each time, staunch conservatives have raised the cry of protest against such an offensive invitation, requesting instead that members of our SC Freedom Caucus to speak, since they are known for their conservative fights in the House.
Biden's Ministry of Truth Coming to SC?

There is a viral clip of an SC High School senior addressing her local School Board making the rounds on the internet. In it, a young woman steps to the microphone and publicly denounces her "conservative, Republican, Christian" father. She characterizes his deeply held convictions as "one-sided bigoted beliefs" and derides the “detrimental effect he has had on [her] life.”
The young lady admits she was "inspired” to speak out by her english teachers and that she couldn't have come to these conclusions without her teachers' support.
