Fireworks To Cap Homecoming Weekend at BJU

Bob Jones University will host a 15-minute fireworks display Saturday, October 8, in Alumni Stadium at approximately 9 p.m. as part of its Homecoming Weekend celebration. Fireworks will begin following the men’s soccer match against Regent University.
Members of the public are invited to attend the fireworks show.
Local residents are asked to take precautions for pets and individuals with sensitivity issues during the event.

As widespread protests continue across Iran, SAT-7 defies internet blackout with live satellite broadcasts
EASTON, Md. -- A Middle East media ministry is giving embattled Iranian women a voice after government officials shut down the nation's internet amid mass protests that have turned deadly.
SAT-7 -- a multimedia Christian broadcaster -- has seen its WhatsApp and Instagram services disrupted by the digital media blackout, but live satellite television broadcasts are still getting through.
Its live Farsi-language programs are bringing encouragement and hope to the nation rocked by the recent death of a young woman held by Iran's morality police. Mahsa Amini, 22, allegedly was beaten to death for reportedly not properly wearing her hijab, a traditional headscarf.

This term, the Court will hear oral arguments on cases regarding free speech, elections, affirmative action, big tech, and more. Here are some notable cases to watch:
Moore v. Harper
This year’s redistricting efforts came under scrutiny in many states. North Carolina’s state Supreme Court ruled that the Republican-drawn congressional maps were “unconstitutional beyond a reasonable doubt under the free elections clause, the equal protection clause, the free speech clause, and the freedom of assembly clause of the North Carolina Constitution” due to partisan gerrymandering. Currently, However, GOP lawmakers are citing the Constitution’s Election Clause that allows states to determine how federal elections proceed in their state.

American Life League's Marian Blue Wave Seeks Closure of Birmingham Abortion Location
FREDERICKSBURG, Va. -- Throughout the month of October 2022, participants in the Marian Blue Wave prayer initiative will be praying for the protection of Alabama women and children. Those praying will focus on ending abortion and will direct particular attention to the Planned Parenthood mega center in Birmingham, the city known for its historic role in the America's Civil Rights Movement.
In the 1960s, Birmingham was known for its segregation and racial discrimination. Today, the people of Birmingham are still targeted for abuse according to the American Life League, this time by Planned Parenthood.
