Fair Beats Reece Decisively in Senate Bid

School Board Member Fails in Partisan Politics
Veteran State Senator Mike Fair ended Tommie Reece’s bid for the state senate by trouncing her by a vote of 24,614 to 10,761 and taking 69.24 percent of the vote to Reece’s 30.27 percent.
Reece was a petition candidate who attempted to convince the public that she was a Republican. The attempt obviously failed. She was challenging the choice of Republican voters in a hotly contested primary.

Disabled Veterans Billed for Taxes, Fees Not Owed
As Veterans Day approached, Greenville County Council members began getting calls from 100 percent disabled veterans who had received surprise tax bills in the mail.
South Carolina law exempts 100 percent disabled veterans from paying property tax. In order to receive the property tax exemption, the disabled veteran must apply for the exemption through the South Carolina Department of Revenue.
Lions Join Hurricane Sandy Relief

Generators, Blankets, Coats, Water Collected in Taylors

Lions in South Carolina, North Carolina and Georgia have pooled their resources to provide relief to the victims of Hurricane Sandy.
Thirty 4,000 watt generators were loaded aboard a UPS truck Friday in Taylors to complete the load in North Carolina with a destination of Melville, New York, to be distributed to storm victims by New York Lions.

Ambassador Christopher Stevens, and three other Americans, including two former Navy Seals working for the CIA, were massacred in a battle that lasted some seven hours.
For several weeks, the Obama Administration claimed the attack grew out of a spontaneous demonstration in reaction to a video critical of Mohammed.

On October 26th, the “Wings of Freedom Tour” landed at the Greenville Downtown Airport in South Carolina. They departed on Sunday, October 28th. This was a rare opportunity to visit, explore, and learn more about these unique and rare treasures of our aviation history.
The Consolidated B-24 Liberator “Witchcraft” WWII Heavy Bomber and North American P-51C Mustang “Betty Jane” are the sole remaining examples of their type flying in the World. The vintage Boeing B-17 “Flying Fortress” is one of only 11 in flying condition in the United States.
