New Board Members Announced  for Wisdom in Living Life Ministry

Winn-Freeman-and-Family---2013

Winn Freeman, founder and president of Wisdom in Living Life Ministry, has been selected 2013 Citizen of the year by the Greater Travelers Rest Chamber of Commerce.

The award is sponsored by the Bank of Travelers Rest and is presented to an outstanding citizen “who has gone above and beyond in recent times to improve the quality of life in our community.”

Freeman founded Wisdom in Living Life Ministry in 2000 after creating a very successful Bible-based program for addiction at the Miracle Hill Greenville Rescue Mission. The faith-based non-denominational recovery and beyond recovery ministry provides services and classes for adults and adolescents, emphasizing substance abuse prevention as well as post-recovery training and counseling for those overcoming alcohol, drug and other addiction.

Wisdom in Living Life Ministry recently announced the appointment of a Blue Ribbon Board of Directors composed of prominent community leaders committed to the long-range mission and devotion of the ministry.

The ministry is currently in the process of raising $1,000,000 to complete the Beyond Recovery Residential Training Center on a 45 acre campus located in the beautiful rolling foothills north of Travelers Rest on Goodwin Bridge Road.

Freeman explains that the best the secular world has to offer addicts is “treatment.” Many well- meaning Christians when confronted with addiction in a family or church member turn to secular solutions that treat addiction as a disease that may require life-long treatment, but no hope of a cure.

Wisdom in Living Life Ministry rejects the disease treatment model and approaches addiction as an issue of the heart – that the Bible refers to as “sin.”

“What we’re talking about is the issue of the heart, and our goal is for people to understand how important it is to go beyond recovery to transformation.,” Freeman explained. To understand and appreciate the simplicity and miraculous results produced by this ministry, one has only to meet one of the dozens of individuals whose lives have been transformed and “cured” from addiction. Many of these, years later,  are replicating what they learned, to assist others who are hopelessly addicted  and seemingly without hope. The proof is in the results. This ministry helps to “transform” lives. It works!

The success of Wisdom in Living Life Ministry rests on II

Corinthians 5:17:

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away, behold, all things are become new.”
