UPSTATE SOUTH CAROLINA

New Travelers Rest, SC Chef

Travelers Rest, South Carolina (December 5, 2018)-- Migis Hotel Group welcomes Haydn Shaak as the new Executive Chef of Restaurant 17 at Hotel Domestique in Travelers Rest, South Carolina. With more than 20 years of culinary experience, Chef Shaak will create an ever-changing menu of locally sourced ingredients inspired by this beautiful Blue Ridge locale.

A graduate of the culinary program at Greenville Technical College, Chef Shaak spent almost his whole life working in kitchens. His father was also a chef, so cooking became a significant part of his life. At age 16, he began an apprenticeship under his father at the Greenville restaurant CityRange Steakhouse Grill. Over five years, he worked his way through the kitchen ranks to executive chef. Chef Shaak has extensive experience in many restaurants in the Greenville area, including The Cliffs, High Cotton, Soby’s New South Cuisine, and most recently, The Farmer’s Table.

“I decided to leave Greenville’s downtown foodie scene to focus more on ‘field to table’ food,” said Chef Haydn Shaak. “I'm looking forward to this next chapter in my culinary journey, creating innovative cuisine for our guests at this beautiful property.”
