Friday, April 5th, a group of Washington Center students attended the annual Michelin Children's Concert at the Peace Center. Many students dressed up for this special event, and a few parents came along too. The Greenville Symphony Orchestra under the direction of conductor, Edvard Tchivzhel, presented a lively and interesting program consisting of the Star Spangled Banner, the familiar Main Title from Star Wars by John Williams, The Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra by Benjamin Britten, and Happy Blues featuring the internationally known tuba player, Velvet Brown. To close the program, students enjoyed hearing the orchestra play the Stars and Stripes Forever march led by a Greenville County Schools student. We appreciate all the community members, who made this program possible and are already looking forward to the next opportunity to go to the Peace Center.
