President Trump Did, In Fact, Get Betrayed by Congressional Republicans
- By Erick Erickson - The Resurgent
The reality is that President Trump and the Republicans held the Congress for two years and did jack about a border wall. The reality is also that Republicans in Congress kept telling the President to wait. And on two occasions they got the President to move forward in ways that got him in trouble with his own base. First was the DACA deal in February of last year and second was the end of the year deal.

Abortions in Pa. Down to All-Time Low, Thanks to Real Alternatives
- By Christian Newswire
Media Advisory - There is encouraging news as far as abortion goes. The number of abortions performed in Pennsylvania during 2017 was the lowest number ever recorded -- just over 30,000. It's a decrease of 870 from the prior year and way down from the all-time recorded high of nearly 66,000 in 1980.
That news was reported just last month by the Pennsylvania Department of Health. It is definitely a case of the glass being half-full or half-empty. There is still the fact that while 30,000 marks a low point, it is still 30,000 too many. So there is still work to be done.

The New State Property Tax South Carolinians Won’t See Coming
- By SC Policy Council
In 1976, voters passed a constitutional amendment amending legislators’ ability to provide for state borrowing. The ballot question was general, vaguely worded and failed to spell out what was arguably the most important part of the amendment: the creation of a new, automatic and limitless state property tax that could kick in with no warning and without debate or vote by the legislature.
The amendment mandates that the tax be imposed if the state is unable to make a payment on the debt. Unknowingly, South Carolinians voted to guarantee state debt with their property.

FBI, DOJ Leaders On Notice: Resign or Do Your Job
- By Phyllis Schlafly Eagles
St. Louis, MO: This morning the country saw news that Roger Stone, long-time Republican strategist and campaign consultant to Donald Trump, had been indicted and arrested by Special Counsel Robert Mueller's witch hunt. This is the latest in a long string of political "hits" against top Trump campaign officials. What was different today, however, is that video from Stone's arrest looked more like the capture of a drug lord or known terrorist. In a ludicrous move, Stone's home was swarmed by dozens of FBI agents and vehicles in full SWAT gear.

Big Chunk of Gas-tax-hike Money Not Going to Major Road, Bridge Repairs
- By Rick Brundrett - The Nerve
Last June, S.C. Department of Transportation commissioner Robert “Robby” Robbins questioned agency head Christy Hall whether the worst roads in the state were being fixed.
“I want a system-wide analysis of which roads are the worst, and I want money to go there first … and I don’t think we are doing that right now,” Robbins, then the commission’s vice-chairman and who was named chairman last week, said during the commission meeting.
