INDEPENDENT CONSERVATIVE VOICE OF
UPSTATE SOUTH CAROLINA FOR OVER 30 YEARS!

Topics Must Fall Within County’s Authority

During the September 2 meeting of Greenville County Council, Chairman Butch Kirven clarified the rules governing members of the public speaking during Council meetings. The rules had been adopted in April 2009.

A heated verbal confrontation had taken place between a citizen and the chairman regarding subject matter being discussed during the previous meeting on August 19th that may have prompted the clarification.

Greenville County Council Meetings for the foreseeable future will begin at 6 p.m. on the first and third Tuesday of each month. In order to speak at a meeting a citizen must sign a register prior to the beginning of the meeting.
