INDEPENDENT CONSERVATIVE VOICE OF
UPSTATE SOUTH CAROLINA

St. Louis, MO: By a vote of 58-35, Ohio House lawmakers voted Thursday afternoon to pass the Heartbeat Bill. This bill would protect all babies in utero once their heartbeats are detectable - an estimated 20,000 babies per year. The bill will now head to the Ohio Senate.

"Janet Porter, president of Faith2Action and author of the Heartbeat Bill, is a hero to future generations of Americans, " said Ed Martin, president of Phyllis Schlafly Eagles. "We are so grateful for her tireless efforts to protect the unborn through legislation such as the Heartbeat Bill and we are thankful for those who voted in favor of life in Ohio. Phyllis Schlafly stood behind the Heartbeat Bill one-hundred percent and she would be pleased to see the progress that continues to be made."

Phyllis Schlafly Eagles has been working hard at both the national and state levels to see this legislation advanced. There are many of the most innocent lives yet to be protected. This effort cannot stop until the the most fundamental right to life is once again respected.
