Macron to Trump: 'You're No Patriot!'
- By Pat Buchanan
In a rebuke bordering on national insult Sunday, Emmanuel Macron retorted to Donald Trump's calling himself a nationalist.
"Patriotism is the exact opposite of nationalism; nationalism is a betrayal of patriotism."
As for Trump's policy of "America first," Macron trashed such atavistic thinking in this new age: "By saying we put ourselves first and the others don't matter, we erase what a nation holds dearest, what gives it life, what makes it great and what is essential: its moral values."
Midterm Election Considered Reflections
- By Greg Shorey
Doubting that many really care, or are just “feed-up” with recent “politicking”, never-the-less I‘m noting my reflections, because I sense many curious, conflicting contradictions : believing the Nov. 6 results conveyed a serious concern for what lies ahead -- especially for committed Constitutional Conservatives – like me. They’ll continue to be all manner of statistical evaluations, but my 70 + years of ‘involvement’ triggers commentary.

Family Windows into Civil War Hell
- By Mike Scruggs
Morgan’s Great Raid and Camp Douglas’s 80 Acres
My great-great grandfather, Theodoric (Teddie) Edward Scruggs was born in 1806 in upstate South Carolina. He moved his family to Blount County in northern Alabama sometime after his first wife died in 1854. He remarried there and had a total of 17 children by the two wives. Four of his sons by his first wife, Nancy Stone, served in the Confederate Army. My great grandfather, John Berry Scruggs, and his brother James, enlisted in John Hunt Morgan’s 2nd Kentucky Cavalry, CSA, in May 1862 in Blountsville, Alabama. Thomas and Sterling were already serving in the 19th and 26th Alabama infantry regiments respectively. The 26th Alabama was later merged into the 26/50th Alabama because the casualties in those two regiments had been so high. The 19th and the 26/50th Alabama were in the same brigade. All three regiments saw considerable combat, but all four brothers survived the war.

Whose Side Are We On In This Battle?
- By W.H. Lamb
“And he said, Hearken ye all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou, King Jehoshaphat: Thus saith the Lord unto you, Fear you not, neither be afraid for this great multitude: FOR THE BATTLE IS NOT YOURS, BUT GOD’S.” (2nd Chronicles 20:15-17: 1599 Geneva Bible).
For those who are unaware, the 1599 Geneva Bible was THE Bible used by our Pilgrim Forefathers (they didn’t like the KJV). Certainly it was read and preached from during the hazardous and tedious 66-day voyage from England to the New World during that increasingly stormy and harsh Fall on the Atlantic Ocean in 1620. Fierce storms and huge waves and wretched living conditions below decks would have turned most modern people back from whence they came. Not so for these 102 stalwart souls who had determined to separate from their old world and, trusting God for guidance and protection, build a new and religiously separate colony in the wilderness of North America.

We Have an Identity Problem
- By Walter Williams
According to a recent report in The New York Times, Health and Human Services Department officials have been circulating a proposal to define sex. Their memo says, "Sex means a person's status as male or female based on immutable biological traits identifiable by or before birth." They add, "The sex listed on a person's birth certificate, as originally issued, shall constitute definitive proof of a person's sex unless rebutted by reliable genetic evidence." I think the latter statement lacks complete rigor. It's chromosomes, not what's on a birth certificate, that determine one's sex. Therefore, if a fetus has XX chromosomes, a female is born, and if a fetus has XY chromosomes, a male is born.

A Nation Under Judgment
- By Ray Simmons
The news following the election of November 6, 2013 has been forcefully illustrating the fact that America is a nation under judgment. Many people have been trying to warn us that judgment would be soon-coming unless our nation returned to one honoring God’s instructions for His Client Nations. I suspect most readers of these words will not be familiar with the term “Client Nation” since it is not a term commonly used by Pastors or other members of most churches. My understanding; it is a term describing a nation God has selected to use to further the spread of His gospel. Ancient Israel would be the first Client Nation.
Democrats See MASSIVE Shift in Early Voting
- By GOP Presidential
Early voting numbers show a dramatic increase in voter engagement in this year’s midterm elections compared with 2014 totals, and preliminary turnout results in some states are sending Republicans renewed warnings of a so-called “blue wave” just weeks before Election Day.
More than 4.3 million Americans have already voted, and results posted over the weekend by Nevada’s secretary of state indicate a strong Democratic showing across the board in that state. In Washoe County, where Reno is located and where Republicans hold an edge in voter registration (99,675 to 94,520), 3,409 Democrats voted in-person compared with 2,365 Republicans on Saturday.
Congress Must Act Quickly to Defund Planned Parenthood
- By Ed Martin, President of Phyllis Schlafly Eagles
Washington, D.C.: With just weeks left until Democrats take control of the House, Phyllis Schlafly Eagles encourages Congress to act quickly to fully defund Planned Parenthood. This is a campaign promise from many conservatives that should be fulfilled now more than ever. It has been three years since the Center for Medical Progress's investigation publicly revealed Planned Parenthood's disgusting sale of aborted baby parts. Just in August, Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) attempted to strip Planned Parenthood of all federal funding but unfortunately that amendment failed.

Hell Bound America
- By Manuel Ybarra, Jr. - Coalgate, OK
Man’s ungodliness reared its head once again this week in California. At the same place, two good lawmen, rushed in trying to stop it, one lost his life in the effort.
The Sheriff described the scene inside the club as “horrific,” and that there was blood everywhere.
The blood of Man was first spilt when Cain murdered his brother Able. After the murder, God confronted Cain, and told him, “the voice of thy brother’s blood crieth unto me from the ground.”

The Gloomy American Left
- By David Limbaugh
The fury of leftists is a constant today, and it's not just because they hate President Donald Trump. Despite all their dreamy talk of compassion and love, they seem to be a miserable lot.
Democrats recaptured control of the House of Representatives this week, and leftists are already grinding their teeth over Trump and salivating at the prospect of putting him and Justice Brett Kavanaugh through investigatory and impeachment hell for the next two years.
There Was No "Blue Wave"
- By John Utz - Greenville, SC
There was NO 'BLUE WAVE' in the just concluded 2018 mid-term election. How can I say that? That's easy; in the Senate, thanks to Pres. Trump's aggressive campaigning, and the very visual atrocious attacks on Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh by the ultra liberal Democratic members of the Judiciary Committee, the voting public reacted and voted accordingly, ie, throwing out several members who so participated.
Exit Signs: Poll Warns Dems to Back off Social Issues
- By Tony Perkins - Family Research Council
In the last 48 hours, there’s been a lot of speculation about what motivated voters to give back control of the House to Democrats. But based on exit polling, we can tell you one thing: it isn’t their radical social policy. Some Americans may be frustrated by GOP leaders or at odds with Donald Trump, but their positions on life, religious liberty, and sexuality are still light years more conservative than the party they just handed half of Congress to.
The War for the Soul of America
- By Pat Buchanan
The war in Washington will not end until the presidency of Donald Trump ends. Everyone seems to sense that now.
This is a fight to the finish.
A postelection truce that began with Trump congratulating House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi -- "I give her a great deal of credit for what she's done and what she's accomplished" -- was ancient history by nightfall.
Secretary Perdue Statement on Dept. of Labor Rulemaking on H-2A Visa Program
- By USDA
Washington, D.C. – U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue today praised proposed rulemaking by the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), which could help farmers advertise job openings to domestic workers as required under the H-2A visa program. The DOL rulemaking would require that employers seeking to hire temporary workers post the employment opportunities online, rather than in expensive newspapers advertisements reaching a limited audience. This is an early step in H-2A regulatory reforms as promised in May in a joint statement of the Secretaries of Agriculture, Labor, State, and Homeland Security.
