Discerning Good and Evil
- Details
- By Bob Dill, Publisher
In times gone by, a large number of people were blessed with a quality that in those days was loosely called “common horse sense.” In essence, they had the ability to distinguish good from evil and the “sense” to “flee from evil,” and defend and preserve those things that were good. Sadly, that quality is lacking today in the typical man or woman “on the streets” of the United States of America, even in the so-called “Bible Belt.” Tragically, it is virtually absent in the affairs of government, business, and academia. It is frightening to note that common sense and discernment appears to be fading from the scene in the modern church.
Memorial Day Memories

Memorial Day is about more than drinking beer around a backyard grill, riding in baskets hanging beneath hot air balloons or watching muscular women sling heavy weights across a grassy university field. It is about honoring the memory of those Americans who have sacrificed their lives so that their fellow Americans may remain free. May their sacrifices never be minimized nor forgotten!
I was pleasantly surprised to see a brief report on Fox News last Saturday that brought back memories of one of my favorite experiences involving a tribute to those who sacrificed. Some of us who have been around for a long time have by the blessings of an all-powerful God experienced history in the making. This writer has been blessed with more than my share of such experiences.
A Taste of Tyranny!
- Details
- By Bob Dill, Publisher
For several years now, this column has warned of the potential for tyrannical government gaining a foothold in the United States of America. Now in the second term of the Obama – Biden Administration we are getting a taste of tyranny that is destined to become much worse. We have “Fast and Furious,” Benghazi, using the IRS to persecute and punish Conservative organizations, using the military to promote the agenda of feminists, homosexuals and terrorists; Refusing to control the border with Mexico and enforce immigration laws; and support for persecution of Christians and Christian organizations.
Administration out of Control

It’s wake-up time in America. For the first time since Federal troops were removed from the South Carolina State Capitol building in 1876, the United States government is at war with a large segment of the American People, including almost all but the hand-picked yes-men at the top of the military services. For the first time in recent history the Commander-in-Chief and the chain of command broke with long standing tradition and intentionally refused to go to the aid of Americans under siege. This is unforgivable and a serious blow to morale of an already demoralized military and CIA.
Prisoners held by the Communists in Hanoi held out and endured unspeakable torture with the knowledge that a grateful nation would eventually come to their aid. President Lyndon Johnson failed to do so, but the American people elected Richard Nixon and President Nixon brought them home to a heroes welcome with a state dinner at the White House.
