Chinese Display New Weapons That Can Easily Take Down Our Grid
- By Eagle Forum
Developments on the international front last week are of great concern. During China’s “celebration” of the 70th anniversary of the founding of its Communist Party, the world witnessed a parade of military armaments including some for which the United States has no defense. The Communist government proudly showcased an inventory of ninety DF-41 intercontinental ballistic missiles, each containing ten nuclear warheads – enough to destroy America’s strategic military targets almost two-times over.

What's Really in the USMCA?
- By Christian Gomez - The New American
The new United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) is intended to replace the 1994 North American Free Trade Agreement, known as NAFTA. As The New American has previously covered (here, here, and here), there are many problems with the USMCA that outweigh any potential economic benefits — mainly how it would erode America’s national sovereignty in favor of regional integration. Congressional Democrat lawmakers, who enjoy a majority in the House of Representatives, have not introduced implementation legislation to approve the agreement, a year after its initial text was first made public on the website of the office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) on October 1, 2018. However, the once seemingly intransigent Democrats are now starting to make indications that they’ve arrived at, or are at the very least close to reaching, a consensus with U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer, after a year of back-and-forth negotiations.

Northeast Syria: A Beacon of Religious Freedom that Deserves Our Protection
- By Travis Weber & Arielle Del Turco - Family Research Council
Turkey just announced its plan to attack one of the few oases of religious freedom in the Middle East -- and it is doing so after President Trump began withdrawing U.S. troops from a part of northeast Syria.
Yet backing out of Northeast Syria is a betrayal of our friends and allies, a disavowal of our values, and will work against our long-term interests in the region. It could also lead to the death and displacement of thousands of religious minorities who have found protection under the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria.
