“Justice” in South Carolina

Can people who enter a courtroom in South Carolina expect to receive justice based on the law and the circumstances, without bias or favoritism? In some circumstances, the client who is represented by an attorney who is also a member of the South Carolina House or Senate may have a decisive advantage. That is the way the system is designed to work in this state. Then why doesn’t it get fixed?
Lawyers are afraid to complain, because they have to represent clients in these courts and most citizens don’t know how the “good old boy” system works, therefore they don’t know there is a problem.
The Changing Face of CPAC

Does the changing face of CPAC predict the future of the Republican Party or the conservative movement? Seems that the attendees at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Maryland were heavily weighted toward the Ron Paul Wing of the Republican Party and most of those are Libertarian Party activists.
The 2,459 attendees were comprised of about 65 percent male and 35 percent female. Half of the crowd were students and about half were opposed to the leadership direction of the GOP in Congress.
The large percentage of conference attendees that indicated to pollsters that they favored legalization of marijuana were not representative of the Republican Party or conservative Tea Party activists, in my view. If they are, the country is in worse shape than previously thought. If more than a third of young conservatives are already pot heads, the Obama regime and media have already won and there is no hope short of Divine intervention that is certain to come in the form of either relief or wrath.
Greenville County Moving Toward Sales Tax Increase

The power structure behind the scenes in Greenville County is moving rapidly ahead toward increasing the county sales tax by an additional one cent on the dollar. None of the advocates of this psychological exercise want to talk about a tax increase at this time, although it is clear that their goal is a sales tax increase. It is premature to discuss tax increases at this time if the approved script is followed.
A tested and proven strategy is being used to convince an uninformed and somewhat gullible public that a majority of the people in the county favor a tax increase to fix the neglected and deteriorating roads and bridges in their community or neighborhood.
Educating for a Two Tier Society

Very few parents would sell their children into slavery. Some would fight to the death before they would allow it to happen. However, those same parents could be deceived and tricked. They might accept slavery for their children if slavery was quietly and gradually renamed “progressive,” and if the parents were told by people they trust that this newly named program administered by a caring government would result in a superior education, sustainable health, economic prosperity, security and lasting happiness for their children and future generations.
Leading educators from some of the nation’s more prestigious universities are warning their fellow Americans about the dangers systematically inherent in the “national” Common Core Standards that are being promoted as “state” Common Core Standards. These educators have reached some alarming conclusions. One of the conclusions should anger every American and motivate them to action.
