Meeting at County Square to Stress Planning for Future, Preventing Harm to Yourself and Loved Ones, Protecting Your Family and Property

Greenville County Probate Judge Debora Faulkner has announced and Greenville County County has proclaimed that Friday, December 2,nd 2011, will be “Senior Citizens Day” in Greenville County.

Judge Faulkner has issued a special invitation to all Greenville County Senior Citizens to attend the event at County Square that will begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at 12:30 p.m.

Judge Faulkner said the Town Hall Meeting for Seniors “will be an event you will not want to miss. You will learn about planning for the future, preventing harm to yourself and your loved ones, and  protecting your family and property.”

The Proclamation signed by County Council Chairman “Butch” Kirven and presented to Judge Faulkner and the Probate

Court Staff by Council Woman Zanthene Norris states that “Greenville County recognizes the vital role seniors and their families play in our community.”

Greenville County has more than 54,000 citizens aged 65 and older, however, the “Town Meeting for Seniors” is a free community event and is open to all ages.

The event will feature a panel of notable expert speakers from both the private and public sectors who will provide free advice to Seniors and their families.

The panel of speakers, in addition to Judge Faulkner, include Tony Kessler, representing the Lt. Governor’s office; Jack Griffin, President of the S. C. Bar Association; W. Walter Wilkins, Thirteenth Circuit Solicitor; Mike Gambrell, Greenville City Deputy Police Chief; Steve Loftis, Greenville County Sheriff;  Connie Haudricourt, Department of Social Services; Kirby Mitchell, S. C. Legal Services Director; Robert Jenkins, Family Court Judge and Debbie Atkins, Real Property Services, Division Manager.

Greenville County Council Chambers are located at 301 University Ridge in Greenville. (Use the entrance by the flag poles.)
