Come hear a live concert by Heather & Raquelle Sheen featuring Christmas carols and music from the 1860s, played on harps and the museum's restored 1860s-era piano! (We'll be dressed in period-correct 1860s attire, of course!) Get in the Christmas spirit with a carol-sing led by Heather & Raquelle! We will be playing harps from approximately 7:00-8:00 and having a carol-sing with the piano from approximately 8:15-9:00. Children welcome.
USDA Invests in Water and Wastewater Infrastructure in 46 States

WASHINGTON, Dec. 4, 2018 – Assistant to the Secretary for Rural Development Anne Hazlett today announced that USDA is investing $1.2 billion (PDF, 509 KB) to help rebuild and improve rural water infrastructure for 936,000 rural Americans living in 46 states.
“Access to water is a key driver for economic opportunity and quality of life in rural communities,” Hazlett said. “Under the leadership of Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue, USDA is committed to being a strong partner to rural communities in building prosperity through modern water infrastructure.”

One-of-a-kind Build to Raise Awareness of Affordable Housing Issue in Greenville
GREENVILLE, SC - Bon Secours Wellness Arena and Habitat for Humanity of Greenville County announce that the two organizations will partner to build a very special Habitat House in May 2019, with the first week of the build to take place onsite at Bon Secours Wellness Arena.
“As you can imagine, there are still some logistics we’re working on with Habitat,” shares Matt Irwin, the Arena’s community engagement lead. “However, we are far enough along in the planning to know that it will happen and that we’ll be able to find the partners necessary to make this exciting idea a reality.”
South Carolina Is 2018’s State with the Worst Elder-Abuse Protections – WalletHub Study

With the share of U.S. adults aged 65 and older expected to be 1 in 5 by the year 2030 and more than 95 percent of elder-abuse cases going unreported every year, the personal-finance website WalletHub released its report on 2018’s States with the Best Elder-Abuse Protections as well as accompanying videos.
To determine which states fight the hardest against elder abuse, WalletHub compared the 50 states and the District of Columbia across 14 key metrics. The data set ranges from share of elder-abuse, gross-neglect and exploitation complaints to presence of financial elder-abuse laws.
