Championing Opportunity is a Winning Strategy for Democrats
- By Veronique de Rugy
Today's political parties lack ideas. The Republicans define themselves as opponents of Democrats. Yet many of the GOP economic policy positions resemble, with minor variations, those of Democrats. Meanwhile, the Democrats repeat the same simplistic refrain: "solve" every problem with more money and stricter regulations. How dreary and unproductive.
To the Democrats in charge right now, let me offer an idea as you try to fight poverty, inequality and corporate influence: Transform yourselves from the party of handouts and regulations into the party of opportunity.

Welcome to the Green New Deal, California
- By David Harsanyi
If California, our most populous state, were its own nation, it would rank as the world's fifth largest economy and boast the highest average household income (outside a handful of "countries" like Monaco or Luxemburg). And, yet, the governor is begging its citizens to stop using their appliances, turn off their lights and keep their thermostats at a stifling 78, lest they suffer more rolling blackouts, like some junior mandarin in a Third World country.
Of course, I kid when I say that California is already experiencing the effects of the Green New Deal. A state that still derives more than 66% of its energy from non-renewable sources, has tens of trillions of dollars to go before it meets President Joe Biden's promise of a 65% reduction in emissions by 2030. The flooding of an already rickety grid with undependable renewables offers only a small taste of the "transition" to "clean energy."

Russia-Ukraine War Update
- By Mike Scruggs
According to military consultant, retired Army Colonel Douglas MacGregor, on Friday, September 2, the Biden Administration asked Congress for another $11.7 billion in aid to support Ukraine in its war with Russia. $4.5 billion of this is for budgetary support of the Ukrainian government. Another $4.5 billion is to replace military equipment stockpiles being transferred by US Armed Forces to Ukraine. $2.7 billion is for defense and intelligence aid for Ukraine. The US continues to be the principal provider of military, financial, and intelligence aid to Ukraine. A substantial part of the military aid will be HIMARS multiple rocket launchers, M777 Howitzer artillery guns, and combat drones.

Getting The United States Out Of The United Nations, And The United Nations Out Of The United States: Is It Possible? - Part 1
- By W.H. Lamb
“It has been the dream of many people for over 200 years to create a one-world government over the entire planet to bring people together, thereby preventing war between nations and peoples—universal peace.
“It is a grand ideal, and many have been convinced that such an entity would indeed create universal peace. There is only one thing wrong with it, and that is that human nature and the nature of government get in the way. It recalls to mind the adage of the British Lord Acton: ‘Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely’.
“The nature of government is to take unto itself more and more power, and with that power a level of corruption. There is no exception to this natural process in history, ancient or modern, because it is based on human nature and the nature of government itself.”

The Use of the Word Science by Evolutionists
- By Charles Creager, Jr.
Evolutionists often talk about science. For example, they will often claim that evolution is science, but creation is just religion. Meanwhile, there are creationists that declared that what they are doing is science as well. They will often point to legitimate scientific distinctions such as a theory making testable predictions. That is a creationist need to present them with testable predictions from creationist theories, particularly successful ones. When we do this, then they will often start insisting that it is still not scientific because it is not totally naturalistic. Their ultimate argument against creationists, when presented evidence either against naturalistic views of origins or in favor of Biblical creation, is that it does not qualify as scientific evidence unless it has been approved by the peer review journals of institutionalized science.

Some Battles
- By Ben Graydon
I would never have believed that I would live to see the day when an election would be so openly stolen and then the mechanisms of government weaponized in plain view to trespass upon and to attempt to criminalize the political player who just had his landslide election taken from him. And the assaulting party did it with a straight face, claiming the rule of law. But we should not be surprised, for criminal activity to seize power and then to cover up its confiscation has been going on since Cain killed Abel.
It is easy to lull oneself into complacency, thinking, “They would never do THAT. This is AMERICA!” But one who continues to think that does not begin to know American history, for that is EXACTLY what has been done to us, and from America’s very beginnings. And it is the same forces of evil, if separated by generations, that seek to steal, kill and destroy, taking away from the values and the valuables that made America great. The fact that we would say or think “They would never …" indicates that we know, innately, that there IS a “they” - someone who is not US and who opposes us.

Who Are You Calling a Fascist, Mr. President?
- By David Harsanyi
The other day, President Joe Biden accused voters of the opposition party of turning to "semi-fascism." This is probably the first time in American history a president has openly attacked the opposing party's constituents in this way.
Then again, Biden, who once alleged that the chaste Mitt Romney was harboring a desire to bring back chattel slavery, is prone to stupid hyperbole. And it's true that most people who throw around the word "fascist" fail to do so with much precision. These days, the word "democracy," like "fascism," has lost all meaning. According to Democrats, asking someone to show ID before voting is an attack on "democracy," but so is the Supreme Court's handing back power to voters on the abortion issue. When you have no limiting principles of governance, anything that inhibits your exertion of power is seen as anti-"democracy." If students have loans to be paid, "forgive" them. If you can't pass a bill, the executive branch should do it by fiat. If the court stops it, pack it. Power is only to be limited when the opposition holds it.
