Christmas Season
- Details
- By Press Release
Christmas Day 2024 is vast approaching, and this should be wonderful for all of us and the young at Heart. Christmas Day marks Two Thousand years ago when the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was born in Bethlehem as a Redeemer to all. Everyday should be God's day; But when you have all of your loved ones gathered to you during this time and they are still around you that makes all the difference. You should realize during this time that Christ always got your Back, and He always comes to the Rescue when times are hard. You need to remember that at Christmas time.
You should Never have a Tested Spirit during the season. Because we should be encouraged by Faithful friends who are near and dear to us that we see again this season. Who we Love in our heart who are still around here and who are still ''Alive and kicking." And when we see them again it Warms our heart.
The Funding Bill Adds 65% Inefficiency to Every Dollar Spent
- Details
- By Vivek Ramaswamy - D.O.G.E.

I wanted to read the full 1,500+ page bill & speak with key leaders before forming an opinion. Having done that, here's my view: it's full of excessive spending, special interest giveaways & pork barrel politics. If Congress wants to get serious about government efficiency, they should VOTE NO.
Keeping the government open until March 14 will cost ~$380BN by itself, but the true cost of this omnibus CR is far greater due to new spending. Renewing the Farm Bill for an extra year: ~$130BN. Disaster relief: $100BN. Stimulus for farmers: $10BN. The Francis Scott Key Bridge replacement: $8BN. The proposal adds at least 65 cents of new spending for every dollar of continued discretionary spending.

[Editor’s note: This is another story in a planned series of stories on livestreaming and other transparency issues affecting local or state government in South Carolina.]
More than two-thirds of the 271 incorporated towns and cities in South Carolina do not livestream their regular council meetings, The Nerve found in a review of official websites and social media accounts.
The 187 municipalities that weren’t livestreaming as of mid-November – 166 towns and 21 cities, or 69% of the total 271 – range in population from 32 residents in the town of Cope in Orangeburg County to 42,766 residents in the city of Sumter in the Sumter County, according to the July 1, 2023, population estimates by the state Revenue and Fiscal Affairs (RFA) Office, based on U.S. Census data.
Kroger Backtracks, Removes Abortion Drug from Pharmacies
- Details
- By Dan Hart - The Washington Stand

In a remarkable turn of events, grocery giant Kroger has removed the abortion drug mifepristone from their Health Savings Club website Monday following an email exchange with The Washington Stand in response to our story on December 14. Kroger, the second-largest grocery chain in the U.S., is also the country’s sixth-largest pharmacy chain, earning prescription revenues of $14.5 billion in 2023.
On December 12, the pro-life advocacy organization Live Action first reported that Kroger’s Health Savings Club website listed mifepristone as an available drug, stating that “It is used to end a pregnancy.” After verifying that the pill was still listed on Kroger’s site as of December 13, TWS published a story on the topic the next day.

Grieving war widows, anxious wives reach out to others despite ‘abyss of loneliness’

LOVES PARK, Ill. -- War is robbing Ukraine’s churches of men — leaving congregations of grieving war widows and anxious wives this Christmas.
Dasha recently gave birth to a baby boy. Her husband, Pavlo, didn’t live to see his newborn son. He was killed on the frontline in eastern Ukraine’s Donetsk region.
Now a widow in her 20s, Dasha has to raise her baby in a war zone, all while grieving and coping with crippling power cuts that go on for days.
One Health is Bad Health

- By Michael Nevradakis - The Defender

The United States, Canada, and Mexico have launched a joint pandemic preparedness initiative that will unite the countries’ public health agencies around a “One Health” approach to addressing future pandemics.
This new initiative may empower the World Health Organization — the architect of the original One Health Initiative — to impose global control measures like vaccine passports and new policies targeting the “infodemic.”
“Because this is an initiative from the WHO, I am deeply concerned,” said Nicolas Hulscher, an epidemiologist and fellow at the McCullough Foundation. “They appear to be seeking domain over plants, animals, and humans — globalized, central control over public health policies in all participating countries.”
States with the Most Credit Cards
- Details
- By Adam McCann - WalletHub Financial Writer
Exactly how many cards are manageable varies from person to person and state to state, though. Having multiple cards in your wallet can help you boost your credit score if you use them responsibly, but they can also lead to the temptation to overspend. The average American has around 5 credit cards, according to WalletHub’s research.
To determine the states where credit card ownership is increasing the most, WalletHub analyzed our latest finance data across four key metrics: the average number of cards owned per person, the average number of new cards opened per person in Q3 2024, and the percent change in both of those numbers from Q3 2023.
