WASHINGTON -- The United States most prolific export is not petroleum, automobiles, or electronics, but abortion, according to Human Life International, the largest global pro-life authority. The US-based organization works worldwide to end abortion and will be present at the national March for Life Expo, January 17 to 19, 2024, to help open American eyes to this country's role in the global massacre of preborn children.

"Pro-life Americans are very aware of abortion's horrific impact on our country," explained Human Life International Chief Advancement Officer John Martin, "but I wonder how many are cognizant of the devasting toll that abortion is wreaking around the world."

Dr. Brian Clowes, Director of Education and Research at Human Life International, cites that through taxpayer funding, directed international aid packages, and public grants, the United States is responsible for a large percentage of abortions around the world, though it's hard to pin an exact dollar figure on it.

"There are streams of money going towards population control from more than fifty nations, as well as non-governmental organizations which act as middlemen. If, for example, Doctors Without Borders does a batch of illegal abortions in Nigeria one week, there is no way of knowing exactly how many abortions can be counted as funded by the United States," said Clowes, but he identifies America as "the major player, the biggest player of all" and noted that Doctors Without Borders USA received $540 million in donations in 2021.

Human Life International is proactively serving over 160 countries seeking to counter what Martin calls "a global culture of death." Throughout 2023, Human Life International representatives have defended life at the Organization of American States in Washington, DC, the Organization of African, Caribbean and Pacific States. Concurrently, Human Life International has equipped both church workers and lay leaders in 2023 via the 23rd Asia-Pacific Congress on Faith, Life, and Family in Cebu City, Philippines.
