INDEPENDENT CONSERVATIVE VOICE OF
UPSTATE SOUTH CAROLINA

The South Carolina Republican Party leadership has decided to seat the Pickens County delegation without exception and delay their “investigation” of the Pickens dispute until after the convention set for Saturday,  May 2, 2015.

Sylvia Bass, Pickens County State Executive Committeewoman said the telephone meeting of the Executive Committee, Monday night at 8 pm resulted in no vote.

Glenn McCall, chairman ofthe credentials committee, announced that his committee had voted to seat the Pickens delegation at the convention and continue the investigation after the convention.

Pickens County Republicans have  refused to get in step with the moderate stance of the Pickens County Legislative Delegation that is being advocated by the current State Party Chairman.

Members of the delegation in collusion with the state party chairman allegedly attempted to circumvent county party rules and  take control of the party from conservatives. The scheme failed, despite the presence of the state chairman at the Pickens convention. It is possible that state chairman Matt Moore will attempt change using an investigation or other means.
