Congressman Michele Bachmann (R-Minn) has registered the House Tea Party Caucus with the House Administration Chairman to serve as an “informal group of members dedicated to promote Americans’ call for fiscal responsibility, adherence to the Constitution and limited government.”

Bachmann said, “Americans have had enough of the spending, bureaucracy and government  – knows-best mentality running rampant today throughout the halls of Congress.”

Backmann is a second-term Congresswoman from Minnesota who is conservative and articulate. She is a great fundraiser, having raised $1.7 million last quarter. She has been so effective that national Democrats have targeted her for defeat at all costs.

The creation of the caucus is seen as an opening to give tea party leaders at all levels from across the country access to conservative members of Congress.
